Since most kids are going to grad school to wait out the economy, I imagine this is going to be a fairly big problem in a few years.

She's not shooting for the stars in her job search. She's looking for an entry level job, one that should require only a high school diploma. To me it looks like employers would rather take a young high school student over a 30 year old housewife.
