Ahh yes...since this will be my first football season away from the band Im debating whether to rock it with the LUnatics on the student side or check it out from the Baptist side this year

As of the fall no but I applied to seminary so I will be a student again in the spring if I am accepted. Im leaning toward hangin with the LUnatics because frankly when I was with the LUnatics during basketball season was some pretty fun times.

Anybody can join the LUnatics but we try to keep the people standing with us at games to strictly students. The goal is to eventually get people who will be rowdy to be on the other side too.

Lookin forward to it. Hopefully we can get back to having FF tailgates next year. I didnt get to be as rowdy as I wanted the last few years because of marching band (I am known to break out in spontaneous play by play while watching sports)

pcguy, that was more born out of the fact that the visitors bench is on the student side and when the LUnatics was formed he wanted to get as many students being as rowdy as possible (I think I got the gist of it SJ)

i mean i understand the concept but in my opinion i still think thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard of. It seems like yall have had problems with standing up and cheering on the 'baptist' side before, why not pack everyone into the other sections and get loud instead of worrying about trying to persuade those who don't want to cheer

The LUnatics stand in the student section. It only makes sense that the people standing there are, you know, students. There are people on the Baptist side that try to get things going over there. It starts with a change in culture. Many of the people that are on that side have never experienced what big time football is like. As more and more people graduate our goal is to make both sides of the stadium loud and involved. We're not going to be putting a bunch of alum right on the 50 yard line in the middle of the student section. That takes away from the students. You only get a certain amount of years to enjoy being a student and being in the student section. It's never been a problem before because we've never had a large group of alumni in the club. I highly doubt that'll ever be a problem either.

Okay, i gotcha now. I was thinking more on the lines of not letting alumni even sit on that side and cheer and all, but you were talking about the student section. Misunderstanding on my part

Our student section is 5-7000 students packed in on the entire side of the stadium.

It appears your intel was on the mark.
