Please keep my grandmother- a long time supporter of TRBC and Jerry in general- in your prayers. Nearly 90, she was hospitalized yesterday afternoon for various issues.
A cath revealed 3 blockages- all either total or nearly 100% occluded. Stents are not an option due to the size and importance of these vessels (arterial), so a CABG x3 is planned (bypass).
HOWEVER - a serious complication arose after the cath, as the IV contrast dye used nearly threw her into renal failure- her kidney output is all but 0%. We are praying she does not need dialysis.
In any event: further cardiac treatment is out of the question for now until her kidneys regain function.
As a result of all the procedures, she is in a good deal of pain most of the time. In addition- an echo done came back poorly and she may be starting a pneumonia.
In short, many complex issues. Please pray for her and for wisdom for the many physicians working with her.
