As I look at them from where you pull into P-22 (the big parking lot where the band practices), its from right to left, 300-20, 300-21, 300-22, 300-23, 300-24. Id guess its the next to last one when you pull into that section from the road that leads back onto the rest of campus East in one direction and the Wingate in the other

By the way, Dorm 21 is on the hill I think. Wait, nevermind, 300-21 is East. You may be in the hotel for a while actually.

idk, i went by there a few times today. they were moving fridges in and there was someone(probably an RA) living on the 4th floor already, so im assuming that they would be liveable, but idk. if they are as fast with the dorms as they have been with the turf, your probably right.

I'm in E300-22 for the night.

Falwell said my dorm, 20, should be liveable by Tuesday.

Proof of enrollment: RAs on East are being forced to room together to open more beds, and in the Quads RAs will have a student rooming with them as well.

Expect to see an officially posted number on campus a shade under 10,000; although ACTUAL enrollment will pass the 10K mark. The reason--over 10,000 and the university supposedly has to build more access roads in and around campus.

You have great vision Dark Lord. Of course the ACTUAL enrollment number at LU has ALWAYS been fluid to "fit the need". I do believe that you are right and the 10k mark will be passed, but, as PeterParker was (sorta) told, "With great numbers come great financial responsibilities"

where could you build more access roads? They're kinda boxed in like some sort of large fire death trap. The only option left is going under the tracks which has been in the works for 20 years.

I believe it is more roads around campus, such as an outer loop, which has been in discussion, to better connect north campus to the dorms on the circle.

They should just torch the circle dorms in a bonfire a la Univ. TX/TX A&M rallies.

I think the dorms on the circle are going away relatively soon. Maybe not in a bonfire, but at least they're going.

UT does not do that outdated "tradition" that Aggy is so fond of. Like most schools with any intelligence they abandoned bonfires decades ago when it became obvious how stupid they really are. For the record, A&M no longer has official bonfires.

How is that for baiting my A&M friends on here?

The trailer park that is the circle does need to go. It would be nice to see some academic use of the space or even turn it into a park for a while. Does anyone know how many students are housed in those dorms (1-13 or so) I lived in dorm 10 and I think there were 72 guys on the hall then. I wonder how many beds they lose by dumping the circle.

Normally it's anywhere from 52-70 mulitplied by 16 (I think) plus a couple of 2 story dorms so you could estimate ~1100 students? They get the job done and if the school keeps on expanding, I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon.

If and when they DO drag them out, blow them up, or bury them- I'd like to come down and lay a rose on the top of ol' dorm 12 8)

call me a sentimental fool.

They are, because the goal is to move all of the housing (at least most) over to East Campus and reclaim that land for better use. In case everyone hasn't noticed, there's not a lot of room for growth on Main Campus. And yes, everyone is quite aware that those dorms are on their last leg. (Dorm 7 is sliding down into the ravine. Seriously. You can go inside and see the cracks in the walls.) I can't speak to the timetable, but as the debate on the twin towers continues there's really no one who thinks the circle dorms will remain in place. The exceptions will probably be 25, 26, 27, 28 and definitely the dorms at the back of campus, 29-33.

33 is relatively new still.

I'd imagine all of any kind of new dorms will be identical to 33. We still have about an acre of land behind 33 and the pit parking lot to add on as well. I'm in the brand new East apts. and the word is they are building 6 more in addition the 4 they just built.

Of course with that being said, been here 4 days and still haven't been able to move in to 200-20.

Not identical, but more along the lines of 33, yes.
