now that you mention TBGBG, he's been eerily quiet, dontcha think? did he win or lose his $10 bet from yesterday?

and while i'm at it, i'd like to nominate JMUDUKES as "guest moderator" :D
Leave TBGBG out of this he's staying off for a reason and i'm proud of him for it. he's behaved himself quite well so you gotta respect that.

Seth's shots won a few games at the start of the season but where where they when it really mattered?
If the Big South teams can completely shut him down how does he think it will be easier in a higher conference?
In reflecting on the season he was a shooter and not much else. Replacing Jesse was a joke.
As a shooter he was far from Pistol Pete. Does he think it is easier for his brother?
Lastly, like Ive always said, those who don't believe in Liberty - please go elsewhere - better yet don't come in the first place

I admit that I am impressed with Publicist's restraint.

Having had several conversations with folks in the know the past 24 hours I feel not only better about this change but also better about this coming season. We may have another shocker before the next season and this one I believe you would all love. But let's not put the cart in front of the horse.

Why would you do that to us?

Because we are playing a gimmick offense with no effective post play. Heck we would take Alex McLean out of games in order to shoot more. It catches teams off guard but in the end it catches up to us. Curry needs a post presence to play off from. I am sure Dell can figure that one out.

Of course it wasn't. Just like with Curry, you will find some way to spin it to keep the hands clean. And build up the pep rally over things that have always happened in that program only the $$ wasn't spent to promote and now there are 4 to 5 thousand more students on campus. But you would rather cast the evil shadow on the past to try and create a white knight out of the past 4-3 finish and 3 starters blowing out of town. RD is your friend as well as mine so it is sorry how you now shape his commitment to the LU vision.

You have now quoted me 3 or 4 times and I'm not going to lie, it's getting old and my patience is wearing thin...nobody is trying to shape anything...I promise you RD's name would never have been mentioned if the pro RD people didnt say it why you guys dont understand that is unreal...I refuse to live in the past, it does me absolutely no good so that's why I'm not dwelling on something that happened years ago b/c it does me no good so I'm sorry I'm not joining the "Fight for the cause" that doesnt make me any less of a RD supporter when he was here or a RD friend now it's just me not willing to try and hold others back by promoting the past

I really don't think this has anything to do with his belief in Liberty. In fact, he remains an LU student right now and I would hope that those of you who interact with him over the rest of the semester would not shun him but encourage him. I would hate for him to walk away with a bad taste in his mouth for the school.

Bear with me, I'm only playing devil's advocate here, but if Seth wants to transfer to a bigger school (reasons aside), wouldn't he kind of have to stay at LU to finish out the semester to avoid any academic issues at his new institution? It's not as though he's staying out of any sense of love for or obligation to the university.

Again, this doesn't give students free license to bury the kid, but perhaps a non-reaction is better than one on either a positive or negative scale.

I'll bear with you but agree to disagree. Seth is a Christian brother who just made a life-altering decision that has had immediate ramifications. These are the types of moments that can breed bitterness and disillusion. The simple fact is that he is going to leave at semester's end and expressing anger toward him won't change those facts. But showing a little understanding could have a big impact on his experience not only with Liberty but his Christian friends as well. Yeah, I sound like a dad concerned about his own kid. Well, I am a dad who has seen moments like these mess up many a kid. I would love nothing more than to see Seth walk away from Lynchburg knowing he had the support of his brothers & sisters back at LU no matter what happened to him on the court or off.

I may have missed it...but here is Chris's take from the paper:
Last November 25, the day that Seth Curry scored 26 points in his third collegiate game to help Liberty stun Virginia at John Paul Jones Arena, the natural question from the assembled press to then-Cavaliers coach Dave Leitao was this: How could the ACC miss on another Curry?

It seems an ACC school will get another shot at landing Seth Curry, who announced Tuesday he is transferring from Liberty. Curry led all Division I freshmen in scoring at 20.2 points per game and set the Liberty and Big South freshman scoring records with 707 points.

I would hate to think you might lose your cool over being challenged with the inconsistencies of this board. When one leaves previously its a disaster but when three starters leave now. "hey Liberty is not for everyone" or "it is a blessing"
wow. And that makes the future so bright. Like I said I am a big Liberty University supporter believe Jerry Jr is on point with many positives. but can not condone the handling of coaches by this athletic adminstration and will not drink the koolaid because someone has a position. Nor should we blow up a 4-3 BSC finish and two collapses to finish the year.

Just a thought: presumably, Baby Judas was on a full ride which means that Liberty was and still is paying for his schooling. Would Liberty professors not then be justified in not teaching him? I don't mean they should fail the kid outright but maybe just tell him to go sit in the corner and stop learning for a while.

Now that is the right direction. We should have treated our coaches that way instead of turning it to a business. Unity is always a struggle when organizations bring in hire hands that break down the continuity of the university.

As a medical professional, I'm going to have to throw my two cents in here. That type of behavior is much more stupid than it is something to be enshrined as some mythical idea of "toughness." Bottom line, playing or pushing yourself while hurt is not in the best interest of anyone, regardless of sport. Short term glory is not worth long term consequences. Those knees have about 50 more years of work to do.

I absolutely LOVE Coach McKay's perspective on all this:
“Sure, will other schools use it negatively against us?” McKay said. “Yeah. (They’ll say), ‘they couldn’t keep Curry.’ Our pool, though, I don’t anticipate it shrinking. People want to be a part of a winning program. We’ve got three guys verbally committed. I’ve been in this thing long enough to know to protect yourself. Our roster, you’ll see, we’re going to be OK.

“I don’t want to take away from what Seth has done from our program. He’s been a blessing.

“Seth is a great kid. I love him. I want what’s best for him. But I want what’s best for us. A player that’s both feet in is what’s best for us. If you’re kind of hoping to be in a different situation, but you’re still in the one you’re in, you have two choices. Endure it. Knock it out. Commit to it. Or change the situation. And that’s what Seth has decided to do.”
