I've waited about as long as I could, but i have to post! I truly wish Seth the very best. i do hope he is tremendously successful. I guess where I am most bothered is that his word meant nothing. Why should a coach be loyal to athletes when the athlete can't be loyal to the coach? One ot the top 50 recruiting classes in the country has in effect been totaly dismantled with the latest defection. For those saying we will be better with Seth gone...well...I find that hard to believe. I do know what goes around comes around. At some point a coach is going to be making promises to Seth and perhaps those promises won't ring true. He'll have no real right to complain. With that said, i do wish Seth all the success in the world, but I hope that at some point he will learn about loyalty and intigrity. Unless LU or RM violated their agreement with Seth I can't even remotely support his decision. Well, I'm done with my one and only post on this thread.

if he goes to Mason or VCU i'll happily join you. but if he winds up in Harrisonburg...oh boy.

(which wouldn't make any sense, because while the CAA IS above the BS, we still don't get media love.)

Home town, several notches up in quality of play from the BSC, but a better chance to be a starter/star than at an ACC school. As far as playing in the NCAA tourney is concerned, sure as long as Memphis is there they aren't likely to win the conference, but a solid second place could get them an at large.
Charlotte's A-10.
Charlotte has a good history with guards. Anyone here remember brett blizzard?

This feels like dating the cute flat chested girl with braces and glasses that was a little bit "ehh" your freshman year in high school then she dumps you junior year for the quarterback when she loses the braces, gets contacts, and is a C-cup.

How he could look at UNCW and think it was a step up is beyond me. ODU beat them twice this year the closest game we won by 22!!
OOPS you said UNCC... not UNCW. Ok, then I officially declare..... maybe!

Yeah, he played for UNC-WILMINGTON

For some reason I keep getting my second tier A-10 and conference USA teams confused. Xavier is good, but I don't think they are so dominant that a team like UNCC couldn't challenge them.

Um, coaches leave in mid contract all the time... usually to make more money. Doesn't mean it's right.... but schools also FIRE coaches when they still have years left on their contract.

Nah, SuperJon and HMO are posting some of the best stuff I've seen on this board.

Ya'll are handling this situation with more class than I ever imagined.

We both come from unique backgrounds. HMO grew up around the school and knew Doc his whole life. I transferred from a state school, was a fan, got a job here, and have had countless opportunities I wouldn't have had elsewhere. This place isn't just a school to us.

Really? I swear I thought it was Charlotte. Those two are easy to flip-flop...

IMHO, looking at these two quotes, as much as ppl may think he threw the Big South under the bus, I think he threw his fellow teammates and next year's recruits under the bus.

He didn't have to bring the Big South into his transfer statement... and certainly didn't have to because anything else would've made the coach look bad.

Just say something along the lines of, "I am thankful to Liberty University for giving me the chance to play basketball. It's nothing against Coach McKay or the university, I just feel that it would be in my best interest to continue my basketball career at another university."

By saying "I want to go to a higher rated conference" he's not only insulting the Big South, but also his ex-coaches, TEAMMATES, and fans (along with everybody else in the conference) that are relegated to coaching, playing, and rooting for teams in the conference that couldn't meet Seth Curry standards.

Screw him.

I disagree with what you are saying. He wants to play in a better conference, thats it. Everyone knows that the Big South is a weak conference.

I was thinking this earlier tonight. My wife said "Jon stop taking it so personal." Well, it is personal. This dude just backhanded my family, and don't think I'm just going to turn the other cheek.

There is no need to trash the young man for a decision he made that he feels in his best interest. I understand the bitterness...the hurt...BUT IT IS JUST A GAME! NO ONE DIED!

(and BTW...HMO's post from a few pages back is CLASSIC...and be stone cold lock for post of the year)

I do have to agree that his statement is a little out of line and an insult to the conference. I can't say where the Big South is ranked right now but evidently not too high considering the conference champ got no further than a 16 seed in the tournament and got wasted by 50 points. But still that did not need to be brought up the way it was and seemed to indicate that the conference wasn't good enought for his high standards. Seems like he is very self centered judged by what I have read on this board. Probably the reason for all of the negative talk on this board and justifiably so.

How many consistent scoring options did he have on the court with him? One in Anthony Smith, double them when they get the ball and make everyone else beat you, and outside of Ohman going off some games (he wasn't particularly consistent and his offensive game is rather limited, so that makes him a lot easier to guard), that wasn't going to happen most games. It's the same thing that happened to Kentucky this year...

How stupid was that movie? If you think back to your high school days, are you telling me that the worst prospect was the quirky art student?

Obviously they never went to Rutgers Prep. Some of our girls grazed on the soccer field.
