But when WU's comeback hinged on Corbin hitting the only 3 he's even attempted this year with the shot clock winding down- Mantoris hit 2 of 2 3's (shoots 14% for the year) on that same run- I feel what you're saying HMO & I'll grant you it did get a little tense but I'll take my chances with those guys for WU beating me on those shots, we took them out of what they wanted to do- their shots fell for a little bit but we responded nicely & didn't panic when we certainly could have!!

Hahaha nice comment on CB....I always liked CB but his obsession with getting people bitter towards LU and LU burnouts gets kind of old...but I dont want to turn this thread into this discussion but like I said we've been talking about it in the WBB thread....but Chuck's attitude towards us is still positive but those he's chosen is very odd and i'm a big believer in birds of the feather flock together so I dunno

Anyways back to the game thread!

Oh and I really like your coach...he really seems like a nice genuine guy and that's a breath of fresh air for GW and the BSC

I could tell you many a story that would quickly change your opinion of Scruggs, but not on this thread. Let's just say his 'people skills' need some improvement.

Trust me, if I did start a thread, y'all would think Reeves and Phillips were saints compared to him.....

Gardner-Webb guard Jonathan Moore

Second-half comeback
“We went to a 2-3, and we started trapping out of that. That kind of helped us speed the game up and play more of our style. That created turnovers and allowed us to get quick buckets.“
That's what it was. I couldn't tell at the time what defense it was but this absolutely confused our entire team. I think it was a zone variation on "covering the 3 guys who score" but man was it effective.

Until Tyler started scoring.

If we can consistently get him or Austin to score when teams start matchup trapping and doubling Seth/Kyle/Ant that would be huge. Of course, had he been healthy, Jeremy Anderson would have been the guy doing that scoring. The "Everyone else is covered so i'm gonna stand on the wing and wait for a pass" and then he drains a couple threes and they have to go back to their old defense.

Hey, Charles was 4/16 on the year from downtown :P

Although, I agree with you that you let Corbin and Robinson take 3's all night long.

LU fans, congrats on beating GW last night. Good luck against VMI.

Thanks, now we are going to have to find a shoe horn to get his head in the Vines.

I hope this works. It comes from the e-mailed version of the sportingnews today which is a pdf file so here is the best I could do.
Good write up! I love how we (the 3 seed) get the top billing and Ratturd (the 1 seed) gets mentioned last as an afterthought!

I would like to say I would have a small crowd like last night over a crowd like VMI any day of the week. Yes, the crowd somewhat died at the beginning of the first half but for the most part, they were louder and more involved than 90% of our games this year. You could tell when G-W was making that run and our offense was very stagnant that went the entire crowd started cheering on offense the guys got a little burst of energy and started playing better. Argue that the crowd makes no difference all you want, but last night proved it can have an impact.

Credit to you guys in the first 3 rows for getting the crowd involved, I saw you/heard you. Good job! :clapping

Does anybody know who that guy is that sits in the front row just opposite of the away bench? He seems to always wear like Dockers or something. That dude get mad. Like I get frightened of what he might do. He needs to calm down.

I agree completely. If those kids are paying attention and come up with something, I'm more than happy to let them go with it. I just hate it when they cross the line and start trying to chant some things we know aren't allowed at Liberty.

You may be talking about Snively. I'm not sure. I know he got pretty angry.

Yep, never heard you guys before, but very objective, I watched it on Big South Edge.

Anyone know who ESPNU is sending to Radford to do the games tomorrow night. Too much to ask Mike Patrick and Jay Bilas to drive over from Blacksburg I guess.....
