I have never heard anyone says this except for my roommate. We always asked what he meant. He had no legit explanation. We always made fun of him. But whatever it means, yeah it is snowing like a freakin mug.

haven't seen Falling Down luconn...but I am sick of crack heads always asking me for money for gas..even if they really needed gas, they probably shouldn't be driving....I am sure a better Christian would be nicer about this...but yeah...

anyways, my experience with LU is when it actually snows they don't cancel classes...so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't cancel them tomorrow

At the same time, its not alot of studying for me. Yeah, I have 3 tests, but they are just CRST, PLED 450(book quotes basically) and PLED 497(Prayer with Dr. henderson) Not a whole lot of tough material, I really dont know why im complaining im just lazy today and am reminded of home when i see snow

Yeah, Dr. earley and Dr. henderson have a good point, prayer is a vital part of being a pastor/leader/christian, yet to graduate, every student needs at least 2 bible courses, a pastor needs 4 or 5 bible courses for the PLED major, but there is no prayer class required, and it wasnt offered until last year. it really is a great class though

oh I am sure its a good class...i think what made me laugh is picturing a class just praying everyday and getting an A...

prayer is important and something that anybody getting involved in ministry should be shown in scripture how important it is...

ok...back to the SNOW! :D

HMO did you put your wipers up?? :D

Just drove back from Old Forest Rd. Stadium Rd was completely slick as was Campbell Ave. Other than that the roads on that trip weren't bad. I slid down my entire road though. Kinda fun actually.

wow doesn't lynchburg lay down a layer of salt down before a storm starts to keep roads somewhat decent...they did that in Maine and it made things a little easier to keep up with

every time there has even been a chance they have put a ton of salt down. now, when they are calling for 10 inches they put down nothing. i swear the city of lynchburg is run by a bunch of retarded people

There is a reason for that. Salt is only effective on a small accumulation of snow. When you are expecting up to 10 inches, it would be a total waste of time and money. They need to plow first and then they may put some down to melt anything the plows don"t get off the road.

which is why you put some down right before a storm...it helps keep the snow from accumulating too fast and you are able to get plows out...when you are expecting a storm like this, that just makes sense...

There's absolutely no way to compare what you did in Maine to what Lynchburg does. We don't have nearly the resources that towns up north do. People always rag on southerners because an inch or two of snow can shut a city down but when you look at the resources used to get the roads in driving shape, it's through the roof how much more stuff towns up north have.

I'm not saying I disagree with you. I was surprised how little salt there was on the roads earlier today when the first wave was coming through (snowed for about 30-45 minutes with rain afterward). I was just speaking in general, you can't compare the two. It's impossible.

Haha, and actually, in your post about Maine, you didn't mention storms like this. Just saying...
