Senior Bowl 2009: Recapping the week's biggest winners in practice
Risers
Rashad Jennings/RB/Liberty: The small school product took full advantage of the opportunity to showcase his talents. He displayed speed and power carrying the ball, strength and tenacity as a blocker and sure hands catching passes. Jennings' performance makes him the top senior running back in April's draft.

It is the same time as the Radford game. Since U-verse doesn't offer MASN here in Texas, I'll probably have football on TV and Jerry's call on the net.

Yeah not sure what I am going to do, go to the Radford game or flip between the 2 games on the tube. Being that my wife is due any day I will probably be watching at home but I really want to see the Zooperstars!!

Don't be surprised if Liberty running back Rashad Jennings has a big game on Saturday night.
Jennings, a former University of Pittsburgh runnner, transferred to Liberty after his freshman year to be closer to his father who was having health problems. At 6-foot-1, 234 pounds, he's a strong, physical runner who can shed tacklers or hit a gap quickly to pick up tough yards inside. But he also has all the right moves to quickly find open space when the offensive line has failed to open up a hole in his intended path.

A capable pass receiver out of the backfield who can do some real damage in open space, Jennings displayed a chiseled, well-proportioned frame at Monday's weigh-in session. He's an articulate and thoughtful young man who is clearly focused on the task at hand, displaying a maturity and calm demeanor that will surely pay off in interviews with NFL teams.

Another reason that you can anticipate that Jennings will be successful as a pro is that his agent, Adisa Bakari, has an eye for highly-talented runners who are often initially underestimated. His other recent running back clients include Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew and Chicago's Matt Forte—who was the MVP of last year's Senior Bowl. Many people questioned Jones-Drew because of his physical stature coming out of UCLA. Others questioned Forte's credentials last year because he had rolled up his more than 2,000 yards in his senior season in Conference USA while playing for Tulane.

Jennings, who some are questioning due to the level of competition he played against at Liberty, is likely to make a statement during the pre-draft period, just like Jones-Drew and Forte did, raising his stock substantially at each step along the way.

Rashad Jennings, RB, Liberty
A former Pittsburgh transfer, Rashad Jennings impressed scouts this week with his quick feet, toughness between the tackles and his ability as a receiver. The 6-foot-1, 234-pound bulldozer is also a solid blocker and displayed the awareness to slip through and set up for a screen pass. Jennings' strong effort during the week carried over into Saturday night's game where he had nine carries for 41 yards. The biggest question surrounding Jennings is his straight-line speed. He's not a shifty back and is a little stiff in the hips, but if he's able to run a high 4.4 or a low 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, he will be a late second, early third round pick.
From the Winners and Losers of the Senior Bowl Scout.com column. Rashad was listed under the 'up and coming.'

56. Rashad Jennings, RB, Liberty, 6-1, 234, 4.50, 2: Based on how he stacked up against large-school prospects at the Senior Bowl, he might have starred anywhere. After the 2005 season, Jennings transferred from Pittsburgh to Liberty to be closer to his father, who has diabetes. Last year Jennings ran 263 times for 1,526 yards and 17 touchdowns. Jennings could be a real steal after the first round.

I just though of this again. Did anyone else think it was significant the Rashad was wearing a Jaguar's Hoodie when he showed up at the VMI game? I mean with Fred Taylor leaving and their other back being a smaller guy it could be a good fit.

A lot of guys go with agents that have experience in their type players. For example, Brock's agent is the same at Tyler Thigpen.

He's stayed here and worked out and work on school. Unlike some of the other guys who have done DLP work and went and trained elsewhere, he's been on campus and working. He's in great shape and will work out on pro day with the rest of the guys.

Oh Good Lord. On this, the Liberty board, most of us have heard a ton about Brock in one form or another. Further, SJ's last reference was to Thigpen to which you next replied:
Thats a guy that I have not heard alot about.

Dominic Rhodes is on the free agent market, Lance Ball and Chad Simpson are unproven, and Mike Hart is recovering from a knee injury. A small-school back with size who impressed at the Senior Bowl is on the team's radar, however. If he's picked by the Colts, could he be the man to emerge from the running back heap to claim the role of No. 2? Find out more inside!

Rashad Jennings could be the next NFL rookie running back sensation due to his size, quickness and speed. But as Scout.com's Ed Thompson points out, Jennings also has a unique perspective that helps him take his focus and outlook on life to heights that will serve him well in the NFL.

While he may refer to himself as a country boy from Forest, Virginia, there's so much more to Rashad Jennings. And as a result, the personable and highly-talented running back out of Liberty University is going to be among the top running backs selected April when NFL teams add new talent to their rosters during NFL Draft weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound rusher has amazing speed and quickness for his size. And he's a complete back who can catch balls out of the backfield or hold his own while blocking to defend his quarterback. Jenning's got a package of skills and attributes that draws comparisons to one of last year's rookie sensations, Bears running back Matt Forte.

Wow. That was a fantastic read.

Every single time I read something about Rashad I come away more impressed. I really hope someone in the NFL has a clue what a guy with his kind of intelligence, character and drive can do for a team. I mean, it doesn't hurt that his skills on the field are pretty ridiculous, but he really is the total package.

I'm fired up for the draft.
