Went to the game today. Very impressed with our young infield, these guys looked real good defensively. Light did a very good job on the hill before he ran out of gas. Need a couple of more hitters. We are certainly headed in the right direction. Disclaimer, these are just my observations based on one game.

What did you think of the new Bauschner stadium yesterday?

The Bosh was very nice. They really soaked the infield...almost to the point of mud. I hope Liberty's next upgrade is close to that level of professionalism...minus about 1000 seats.

on a side note:

I don't think that LU would have been beaten so badly if it weren't for 2 terrible calls by the first base ump.

runners on 1 and 2 ... Guy hits a single...Errol was guarding the plate...I don't think the runner even touched the plate (I'm sitting the row right behind the plate)
But clearly Errol tagged him out.

ump called it safe...Toman lost it...even carolina fans were questioning the call. It would have ended the inning, but carolina went on to score another run.

The other call he flubbed.... Curran bunts runs it out....first base tries to tag....Curran dives under the tag and touches base...and called out. Again carolina fans thought he was safe....Toman is almost ejected...we are down with an out at a critical point.

The Home plate ump was very inconsistent with his calls. This is why Light started walking people. He had two strikeouts and the ump cut him off....thus the walks.

Also, Carolina clearly balked once, but they never called it.

It was a good showing by us....a POOR showing by ACC officials

Besides the $10 to park, which I didn't have to pay thanks to a handicapped sticker and a nice security guard and $7 for a ticket and too much light blue, it was pretty nice.

Not sure the umps were that bad, they certainly were not perfect though, the call at the plate could have gone either way in my opinion, the call at first did appear to be a bad call, and Light was obviously getting tired when he started walking people. I don't think we lost because of the umps.

We did score all our runs with two outs. Another odd thing, I don't recall us pulling a ball all day long, especially in the air. Tyler's home run was to the right field power alley. The Holes also seemed to hit the ball to the opposite field more than I expected as well.

Anyway, I look for us to have a real good future. Toman is doing a good job IMO.
