I knew that once that one guy said his condolences to Jack at the airport, that he was going to be a new character. And guess what, he just happens to sit in first class, I bet we'll see him on the island. And my wife can't believe that Sun would leave her child behind, but I'm thinking she wants to get to the island, find Jin, and then have Widmore get her back home.

I really really really really really REALLY hope Ben didn't kill Penny.

That is all.

That's a good thought, but I'd imagine it would have been enough work for him to get both Hurley out of jail and Sayid on that plane, I don't know how he would have time to find Penny and exact revenge.

And I read on one of the Lost sites that some people think the radio transmission from last week, when the frenchies heard the numbers, that it was Hurley saying the numbers in the transmission.

Popular belief is that Ben did get beat up while attempting to kill/injure Penny. Desmond could have broke it up...thus Ben in the shape he is. Ben was just carrying out his promise to Widmore that he would kill his daughter for what he did to Alex.

I am not convinced that Ben had anything to do with Hurley. I believe that Hurley "saw" Charlie and Charlie told him to go back to the island. Thus...he is carrying the guitar, representing Charlie on 815.

Sayid...who knows how he ended up on the plane, but he is representing Kate from 815...and the guard looks/represents Ana Lucia.

Ben comes to the flight late, just like Hurley did on 815.

Kate looks drugged up like Charlie did on 815.

Over all...an awesome episode. This season has been absolutely fantastic, and each episode gets better.

That's funny, I hadn't even thought of all of those similarities despite the fact that I mentioned to my wife at the time that Sayid is the "Kate" of this flight. Being dragged around by some kind of Marshall.

It was nice to finally find out what happened with John when he got off the island. And find out that he didn't kill himself. But I think he might get his revenge sooner or later.

Why do you think Ben killed Locke? If he went into the room wanting Locke dead, why did he not just let him hang himself. Do you think it had something to do when he mentioned Hawking? It was then that you see something click in Ben that made him look like he had to kill Ben.

BTW...where does Ben learn about Hawking? I can not remember anybody telling him that he needed to see her. Was it Alpert?

Ben kept John alive as long as necessary, i.e., until he found out how to get back to the island. After that, he took care of the quarterback controversy by offing the new chosen leader of the Others. Or so he thought.

sawyer and juliete?

shoot, this was a decent episode, so far. crazy how they're stuck back in time. but i guess that means when the plane with the oceanic 6 crashes during that time (70s). anyone?

The only thing we know for sure is that three of the sixers went back to the '70s. Based on the trailer for the next episode (two LONG weeks away), Sayid is also 30-ish years in the past. My suspicion is that Locke and the other 316 survivors are in the present day. Popular theory is that Sun left with Lapidus on that kayak toward the main island (since they landed on the smaller island) to find Jin. If that's the case, and my suspicion holds up, Jin isn't there.

I was so happy when he shot him, but I know he's not dead. I hope he is, but he's not.

How do you know? the physics guy kept stressing that you cant change the past but it certainly looks like he did. I guess the kid could pull a Locke and survive the gunshot wound. I wonder if the irony there is Syid's act of savagery is what turned Ben into what he is as an adult. But still, even if he survives, kid Ben thought he was a hostile, so wouldn't he not trust the hostiles anymore and not gas the place?

You also can't change what has already been undone. That is why I don't think Ben is dead. I beleive that he is just like Mikhail, Locke and Michael. The island will not let them die until the island is done with them.

There is also another theory...if Ben is truly dead, you still can not change what has already happened, so things will go on as they did, it will be somebody else carrying out the things that Ben did...such as the purge and so forth...

Of course there is always the alternate future theory....

A lot of people I've been reading think this "shadow of the statue" group of people works for Ben, because they were against Widmore. I was immediately under the impression that this group is a 3rd party that's in play. So I think we have Ben vs Widmore vs Shadow of the Statue. Possibly whoever was in charge of Dharma or Farraday's mother.

I assume they were not time jumping. So we'll probably see them eventually in the Sun/Locke/Ben story.
