different sport but Martin Sayer is a 3 time Big South POY in men's tennis, going for his fourth this year :D
That's a great accomplishment in any sport. I don't think it will be done in basketball anymore because anyone that good in their freshman year probably won't finish at the same school because they will want to go pro if they are in a big conference and transfer to a big conference if they don't. Megan Frazee was a shoe in for 4 on the women's side for Liberty but she got hurt her freshman year.

What about Steph Curry? Was he POY his fresh year? I know he was last year, and he will be this year. If he stays next year, there's no reason why he wouldn't be next year also.

He was freshman of the year and 1st team all conference. He was not POY his freshman season.

Middle of rankings unfamiliar territory for Eagles
By Gary McCann - The Herald

When you take a look at the Big South Conference standings and try to project the first-round pairings for the conference tournament, remember one thing.

Presbyterian is not eligible for the league tournament.

Right now, VMI (8-1) is first, followed by Radford (7-2). Liberty and Gardner-Webb (6-4) are tied for third and Winthrop and UNC Asheville share fourth at 5-5.
And his thoughts on midseason individual honors ...
MIDWAY GUESS: The BSC has made it to the halfway point in the league race, with no front runner for player of the year. Liberty's Anthony Smith was the preseason favorite and he'll be a contender, but certainly not a shoo-in.

Smith's teammate Seth Curry, who is a shoo-in for freshman of the year; Coastal Carolina's Joseph Harris; and VMI's Chavis Holmes will get some votes.

And what about the all-league team?

Here's one guess at the midway point.

First team: Holmes, Artisom Parakhouski of Radford; Harris, Curry and Smith.

Second team: Joey Lynch-Flohr, Radford; Grayson Flittner and Aaron Linn, Gardner-Webb; Al'Lonzo Coleman, Presbyterian; Jamaro Warren, Charleston Southern.

All freshman team:
Keith Gabriel, VMI; Curry; Andre Jones, Winthrop; Joshua Henley, Gardner-Webb; Matt Dickey, UNC Asheville.

Interesting thread. It's really amazing what Curry has done, & it's apparent that people see our team as having a lot of talent.
