If he comes...and it sounds like he is, then I'd be shocked if it wasnt his job to lose...of course nobody can promise anything but you can hint enough to have them transfer

Didn't CSU have a BCS transfer QB with a similar pedigree? If so, it didn't get them very far.

We had a smaller D1 example that didn't work out either, but he looks good!

Tribble Reese rode the pine at Clemson, he never had a chance. This kid although he didn't play much, actually played some meaningful snaps and started some games. Reese sat at Clemson forever then went and tried to make it at CSU.

This kid is going to be our football Jesus!!!

Why wait? We all know everyone is going to build him up to that level by summer camp.

How about JK Scott. He was another senior who came in from Washington and was a bust.

Toth and Scott...both played under Karcher...that pretty much sums it up that they were doomed.

Anyone remember Antwan Chiles (SP) from Fla? Didn't turn out bad. We did have him for at least 2 years though.

this was known in the carolinas about his intentions to transfer, but i was never impressed by beecher in the times i saw him play with the gamecocks. who knows how the QB battle will shake out, but it never hurts to have competiiton.

Spurrier basically told all of the rising seniors that if they weren't starters, they needed to find somewhere else to play.

Come on. Why on Earth do we hand the reigns over to a guy with ONE year of elgibility, when we have capable guys who have been running our system in practice week-in and out?

Maybe at a skill position like RB/WR but not at quarterback.

Some of the top teams in DI-AA make a living off 1 year guys...Proto is right, he wouldnt transfer for nothing, if he was going to sit then he'd sit at USC

Most of those programs you're speaking of have the kid transfer in for spring ball.

Which programs have had continued success by bringing in a QB for one year?

SJ is on to something about Spring Ball....but like I keep thinking/saying...even though he's a good Christian kid with a great story (in life, not just football) I just cant see him coming here for only the school aspect, it's gotta be for more

He'd definitely have a chance to start. Every single position is open at the beginning of every single year. It's just big time premature to say he'd be a definite starter.

From what I was told a few weeks ago he would come in the summer... It has been mentioned above about his Christian background... Depending on how long it takes for him to catch on it will at least bring even more comp for the job which is always a good thing. USC is all about Garcia, Smelly left a few weeks ago and Beecher wants to go to a Christian school and play for his last year...

Getting Beecher would be a big deal for us. This kid can play. He was Spurrier's top QB last year, but suffered a concusion in the opening game. A great deal of controversy ensued later on, but speculation is pretty much pointless at this stage. There's something to be said for coaches committing to a QB. Spurrier was all over the map last year, and Beecher was probally ready to move on prior to the Clemson game.

LU is just one of many options for Tommy Beecher, so we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out. We'll be very fortunate to have him lining up under center for the Flames next year.
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
