Well it is that time of the year: Christmas break ends today, school starts back up, i hate grad school and there's not one single doubt about it, etc.

I'm not answering the question on purpose because it doesn't definitively tell us anything. It would be my opinion, which is my entire point. What if I thought Memphis was better than Kansas last year despite the outcome? It's silly to argue that but in your roundabout logic, you could. Example, you're determining who is better between LU and VT by looking at the overall body of work. How LU would do with VT schedule and vice versa. There's so many intangible things in doing that it's silly. Or you look at who VT's won or lost to and then judge them. Except you're also judging who they've won and lost to and who they've won and lost to. That has the same fundamental flaw in it that RPI has because eventually when you get down to the end of the line you're making yet another judgment call to get your baseline.

You can't say that VT would definitely, without a doubt, beat us. It's a different style of game between us, VT, and Wake. Some match up better than others.

I just dont understand why the aspirations are so high yet for a team that's still unproven...our time will come when we can expect to be considered the best team in the state...but right now I dont think that's even being thought about...we're just worried about beating the Radfords, VMI, and others in this state alone...I'd love to think we're at the point to go down to WF and walk away with a win...but I think anyone on here that would say we would is nuts

What win do we have can even sniff a quality win for anyone outside of the BSC? UVa is a quality win...FOR US...GM is a quality win...FOR US...but if this was the NCAA tourny committee meeting for our seeding not one of those would impress them...the only thing we have that can be considered quality for anyone outside of the BSC is that we almost beat Clemson

No one is saying we'd make the tournament. We're saying that against any team in Virginia, we have a legit chance to beat them in a game. That doesn't mean we're the best team. That means we can beat them. It won't take a miracle like in years past. If we put together 40 minutes of basketball we can beat anybody in Virginia on any given night. I would say the same thing about VCU, Mason, and VMI as well.

I wasn’t rolling my eyes at the win, I was rolling my eyes at your logic. That was a great win for Va Tech, but in no way does that win mean we wouldn’t have a shot to beat them. Sure, we wouldn’t be favored, and if we played them ten times we would be doing good if we won twice.
