His dad & uncle played for JoePa at Penn State. His grandpa was JoePa's assistant. I am guessing that carries some weight. Outside of that it is over a year to Signing Day '10 and I'm sure he will have a lot to think about between now and then.

If that were the case then I think most of us would be very pleased.

Big J since you play with him, do you think he will still perform well against the high level of competition this year? Also the fact that he doesnt have a proven reciever like Kelly, i saw LCA vs Franklin County in a scrimmage and Brad Knight and David Rocco didnt look bad

That's a very good guess...they have a good relationship with Richt (sp?) and he's a good "Christian" guy

I said this before, at this point UVA has been recruiting him the hardest. If Mike grows to 6-5 and puts on an extra 15 pounds from what I am hearing that will take him to the top level of QB prospects for 2010 class. HMO and Proto are correct on the Georgia interest. We just saw Stafford come through and Mike's strength certainly resemble alot of his talents, his style could easily fit in Richt's system.

Even though those are great options i am sure he will want to follow his dad in either Penn State or go to his Uncle.

OK, you are "sure". Why? How?

If Penn State doesn't get a firm handle on their off the field problems in a big hurry, I doubt he will go there. I'm sure we will have a scholarship in reserve for him, but he will no doubt have several prominant BCS schools to choose from as well, and all will have something attractive to offer.

Penn state has already signed a qb for 2010 btw. Not saying mike doesn't still have a shot but just saying.

No one from Class of 2010 can sign for 12 more months. It is only verbal commitments for now.

You might be right. I think he's going to some camp or some place where he can get exposure in Georgia! That might not be a far fetched idea.

However, he and his family are pretty close. If he does go someplace other than LU, I think Frank resigns from the position as head football coach/Athletic Director at LCA. Of course, he might do that even if Mike does go to LU.
