Don't believe everything -- or much of anything -- that Sean Hannity tells you. People said much of the same things when Clinton came in with the added bonus of accusing him of being a drug kingpin.

The fact is that the new guy has been elected by the people and I intend to give him the opportunity to prove the people wrong.

That's gracious of you. I had heard he was ready to pack it in, but he'll be glad to hear you're giving him the opportunity.

Honestly, the whole "completely freaking out because your candidate lost" thing is getting old in this country. I know liberals who were literally depressed for months after W won (both times) and I had friends at LU who were seriously contemplating moving to Russia when Clinton won in '92. I can understand if this is the first election you've ever been through but most of us have been through a few more than that and we should know by now that it's never as bas as you think it is when your guy loses and it's never as good as you think it is when your guy wins.
This isn't "completely freaking out because your candidate lost." McCain was far from the ideal candidate. This is recognition of where this nation is headed. Some might not have a problem with America turning into a hedonistic cesspool. I do.

We have a moral obligation to oppose that slide, no matter who might be in the White House.
If and when your guy loses you can't blame the "hedonists, leftists, socialists and communists". Blame the guy who lives next door to you and the lady across the street and the old couple around the corner because, at its core, that is where the power in this country always has and always will reside. If you don't like the current situation, trust me, you'll get a chance to change it but, in the meantime, get a friggin grip.
The problem is that the average voter is a brain-dead zombie. I hate to be blunt, but the founders never intended for everyone to have a vote. They didn't want stupid people to have power at the polling place. We have a population that has been systematically brainwashed over the past decades. The educational system, pop culture, and the media have been trying to make the people into mindless drones for a long time. They understand that mindless drones can be manipulated to believe anything, hence we have the first "rock star" President.

And yes, we do have a problem with hedonists, leftists, socialists and communists in this country. If the lady across the street and the guy next door fit that definition, then so be it. I will stand in opposition to them and their agenda.

Putting your head in the sand and trusting the people to make appropriate decisions is a recipe for disaster. The simple fact is that human beings can't be trusted. We are born depraved and inclined toward evil, not good.

Good luck with instituting the Reich then, mein Oberst.

Believe me, we've been to this dance before. He wants universal healthcare? Yeah, that's completely new. Higher taxes? Groundbreaking. Pulling out of an unpopular war? Gee, where will the revolution end?

A stupid man once said that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. That's crap. The truth is that those who don't learn from history are simply doomed to panic repeatedly.

But if the Republican won everything would be fine?

No, he said "McCain is far from the ideal candidate"

Everything would be hardly fine...but at the VERY WORST of McCain we would have 4 more years of what we had...and looking at changes that have already been made...that might not be such a bad thing

No, he wants wealth redistribution, to promote abortion on demand by instituting the most radical abortion law ever conceived, he wants to promote the homosexual agenda, dismantle the intelligence networks, grant constitutional rights to terrorists, cripple the United States military, expand the welfare State, transform the federal judiciary, erode the 2nd amendment and destroy American sovereignty.

He is the most radically liberal person to ever be elected, and he has huge majorities in the House and Senate to push his radical agenda.

Pretending that the problem doesn't exist is not the answer. Pretending that the media isn't going to run interference for their creation is simply laughable.

I never said that. The Republicans let a lot of people down with their out of control spending and constant caving to socialism. However as a whole, they are vastly better than the other option.

I also said that we have a duty to oppose evil no matter who is in the White House. It just so happens that one party wants to accelerate our path towards that end.

You just need to have an enemy, don't you? How's it feel to be constantly under cruel siege by the eternal forces of everlasting darkness?

Don't look now. The orcs are coming.

Some middle school up in Green Bay was playing the inauguration over the school p/a system, and they selected a local radio station for the audio. Well, they just happened to pick a station that broadcasts the Rush Limbaugh program, so all throughout Obama's speech, the kids were lucky enough to also get a big dose of Rush's commentary. Hah! Suffice to say, the teachers were not too happy about that.

One of the teachers wrote and complained to the radio station (?!), saying that they had been preparing their students for weeks and that this was the most momentous day of their lives. Hmm, a little indoctrination going on there? Anyways, this starts to make up for that.

The eyeroll! Yes!

Allow me to elaborate. There are decent, thoughtful and intelligent conservative commentators out there. Hannity is not one of them. He doesn't have a cogent thought in his head and there's nothing that falls out of his mouth that some political operative hasn't handed him. He's made a fortune out of filling up most of his show with articles he's "read" somewhere -- sources notwithstanding --, periodically dropping the phrase "right out of the liberal playbook", and waiting until the last two minutes before a break then putting a liberal caller on the air but cutting them off after 30 seconds and ranting for the next minute and a half before hitting the commercial. Well, that and shilling the steakhouse that the vast majority of his audience can't afford. Back in the day, my dad would have referred to this guy as a "schmuck".

Do I get a middle finger now, Dukey? Come on, you know you want to.

Thank you. I actually used to like Hannity, but I've since realized the guy is wacko like Jacko.

I repeat all of the above, just not so mean-like. Hannity really is the low-man when it comes to intelligence and originality. I wouldn't say he's wacko at all, just not all that smart. And the country music just makes it unbearable.

Edit: I will say that I don't think it's really worth attacking the guy, because in all honesty, he does hold to and fights for most of our values. Some of us may not think real highly of him, but he is on our side.

uh no, but you're completely wrong. Hannity follows in the same path that Limbaugh, Beck, and others have gone...he provides useful insight just like any of them. But please, keep bashing him...
