Tonight at a basketball game I had a kid I used to cover last season show up wearing a Liberty fleece pullover and he told me he was on the team at LU. I talked to someone about it after the game and they said they thought he may be redshirting this season. His name is Jon Hart and he went to Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, NC. Obviously, I know he's not on the team this season. I was just wondering if anyone else knew anything about this and could shed some light on this subject.

This Jon Hart is a tall black kid that isn't on the track team. That's what I was wondering if maybe he's a walk-on or if he's on some sort of practice squad.

There is no way he is on a basketball scholarship. Possibly part of a practice squad. There are enough guys on here who have been to practices to confirm or deny that. My guess is he's just a big kid who likes to

I realize that he, like many kids may like to BS. My thing is how many kids would pick Liberty, especially in Eastern NC, as a the program to say they play for? That's no knock on the program, I just don't think he would lie about LU if he was going to stretch the truth.
