Not even close!! He may have had even less talent, but compared to Armon Jones, Rashad was a superstar. He actually played some meaningful minutes.

Wow...that 2005 Big South opening round was heartbreaking. Lead most of the game, then lost in the final minutes against Charleston Southern. Oh yeah, Rashad was a big waste, but that was the past...lets move on.

OK, I simply can't resist pointing out that it must have taken countless hours of logistical analysis to figure out how to seat all of those fans (in both pics) in that wonderful arena you guys have.. & one of those shots is from the Big South tourney!!! After all that stuff you guys said about us hosting last year & televised game appearances?? Wow- I'm just saying.. I'm saving these pics for what I'm sure will be another discussion at some time..

Ah- the glory days of 2004- point being is that it's ONLY that way when LU's playing in the tournament final- show me the non- TV camera view (i.e. the other side & baselines) of that game with all the boosters & it being probably 25-30% full & then we'll talk some more!! You guys are fun...

I think the point is we can actually hold that many if that many wanna come out.

No one said Asheville shouldn't have hosted, just that it should've been at the convention center.


I, personally, think there needs to be a rule in place stating that the conference tournament has to be played at a place that holds at least 3000 people. If a place like CSU, Coastal, or HPU (I didn't say Asheville because you're building something that holds 3000) can't secure a place that large, the hosting goes to the next highest seed that can.

From a pure business perspective, it's bad for the Big South to have a tournament game at a place that seats 1000. They can sell more tickets and make more money, along with getting more exposure, at a place that's slightly bigger.

I understand what you are saying, but you'll excuse me if I think it's elitist for you to command a better team to play where it makes business sense- don't you think the student-athletes make enough money for their respective universities & the conference without selling out what "home court advantage" really means??

The only reason I was so against your argument last year is that while we do have the Civic Center to play in, we haven't played in there in a couple of years moreless practiced there.. For all your arguments & excuses of how it's so hard for your players to shoot in the Justice Center- why would you essentially punish the better team to play where they haven't either?? Just for a couple of bucks?? Now that's not what home-court advantage is about..

And actually many of you on here last year said that we shoudn't have hosted it...

When has the Big South, the NCAA, or even the NCHSAA ever done anything that was best for the student-athlete? They're a business and need to operate from that perspective. That's why the NCAA tournament is held in a football stadium instead of Rupp Arena or the Dean Dome or Cameron Indoor.
