depauls not that good this year. Its my backyard. After seeing them play as lousy as they have so far this year I feel confident we can take them. The only thing to be worried about is that they will be coming off a very upsetting loss to UCLA(they have no chance against them) and will be looking for revenge against us, their next opponent. But they will also, most likely, be over looking us as no one at depaul has ever heard about Liberty except for the womens team. When they hear we have a curry they wont have any idea what to expect and will be outplaying their ability.

I think the secret is out that we have a Curry. I don't think Depaul will be overlooking us!

not predictiing anything, but this gives you an indication of just how bad depaul can be this year:

lost 79-75 to morgan state
lost 63-36 to northwestern. yes they only scored 36 against the big 10 power northwestern (please note the sarcasm there)

They also beat FSU 73-59, then FSU beat Florida 57-55. Henceforth, NU is a big 10 power. NU can beat Florida. I love this reasoning.

and Florida beat Alabama in football, so Northwestern basketball can beat Alabama in football!

Sheesh, transitive property...

they play at the rosemont horizon, where the women played in the tournament in 2006. it's a decent venue, but it's kind of in the middle of nowhere in terms of chicago. fairly close to o'hare.

Correction, Chris. It is just around the corner from the Giordanos on Higgins (just below the rose water tower) with easy access to O'Hare. That's a great location IMHO.

I ate at that Giordano's a couple of years ago when the women were out there. Love their deep dish pies. It's a good location in terms of getting there from the airport, but not close at all to downtown. And I forgot it's called Allstate Arena now. It'll always be the Horizon to me.

Unless you are flying into Midway, there is no reason to go downtown on a short trip. Here is the pie I devoured a few weeks ago at the Giordanos on Higgins ...

There is no middle of nowhere in chicago. Ohare is the only stretch of highway that isnt filled with buildings. Its been renamed the All-state Arena now and has been updated a bit. I dont think Liberty will have too big of a problem handling them on wedsnday

also, there is a ginos about 15 minues west of there. Gino's is far better than giardanos.

Chris, didnt realize you corrected yourself about the name. Other things about Rosemont area is that its about 20 minutes from Wrigleyville, 15 minutes from one of the biggest malls, half hour from downtown.

Really? I have been to the Giordanos and Gino's East that are close to each other on Higgins. And I honestly prefer the Giordanos. The original Gino's East is off the hook as far as atmosphere and pizza. But the one in Rosemont didn't live up to that standard for me.

As for the game itself, I take nothing for granted. And when I was living in Illinois the Blue Demons were a force to be reckoned with under Ray Meyer. And as a result, they still carry a little weight in my book. Yes, you can now insert Old Hag humor here.

They still carry quite a bit of weight in illinois, which is why im bringing alot of my friends and people from my church, in the hopes that when we beat them people will realize Liberty is a real school. Its very annoying talking to my friends about our basketball program and them thinking we are D-1 of the christian league. I didnt know their was a christian league nor that it had divisions.

Ginos crust is different than giardanos and thats what makes all the difference. They both use the same sauce and toppings and everything, but the crust is just a bit different, ginos is more yellowish and flaky. I worked at Ginos in Lake Zurich, where I live, for several months and i imagine that the employee benefits made me particularly biased. I left work every day with a large sausage patty pizza. And thats the other thing, if you like sausage pizza and you go to ginos, get it patty, not broken. Patty is a layer of sausage that covers the entire pizza and makes my mouth water thinking about it.
