i don't want to start this again, but we could have scheduled better this year. the big south isn't what held us back, it was teams backing out and stuff. the 2 DII games were the icing on the preby cake that killed us

Shut up JDUB. We did everything we could in terms of scheduling. JMU and YSU should have been two games against possible 10 win teams, but neither decided to show up. JMU canceled for a retarded reason and YSU fell apart. It's not even Presby that killed us. It's the fact that the CAA is seen as this super power, that even their bad teams are respectable wins. We beat a 6-6 Coastal team and it's a bad win. Maine could beat Rhody or Towson and get props for it. Those teams had 9 losses! We are in a terrible conference that will never get us anywhere. We NEED to get out, ASAP.

It all boils down to losing to the Hose. There was just no excuse for that loss. With a W we get in easy. Well, proud of the team and coaching staff, great year and a good foundation to build on.

Well, it's hard to stay chill when your team gets screwed and you get called stupid.

And next year we're gonna have a snowballs chance in the Sahara of making the playoffs unless a miracle happens. We just don't have the schedule for it. Why? We still have to play our garbage conference, so we'll have to kick the ever loving crap out of each and every one of them to even have a chance, and that's IF we can beat Laffy or JMU.

The case for Liberty:

Liberty (10-2) finished as undefeated champions of the Big South, a conference which will, shortly, receive an auto-bid to the playoffs. They have also met two of the three conditions for automatic inclusion in the field: they have eight Division I wins, and have won two games against teams from automatic qualifying conferences. They MIGHT fulfill the third requirement, an average of 16 or better in the Sports Network Poll, the FCS Coaches Poll, and the computer numbers, but that is information which I am not privy to. But, ultimately, I do not think it matters. One could argue endlessly about whether Liberty is a better team than Elon, Maine, and William & Mary. What matters is that they are the better choice to fill out the field.

lets not lose our cookies people. the loss to presby did us in. the fact that they are a transitional program hurt...really bad. had we gone 11-1, i think we get in. do we deserve to get in before maine?? i think so, but it is what it is. i feel horribly for our seniors who busted their arses, and the whole team for that matter as well as the coaches. they worked so hard this year. the fact is until we get an automatic bid, we have to play near flawless football to get a bid. we have to be ready every week. we are a better team than presby and we did nto show it that week. we will be back, but next year we cannot have any letdowns. yeah this really sucks right now, but we still are back to back conference champs with one of the best darn coaches in college football. we will be back for sure!!

This conference is terrible. I'm not saying I have a solution, but I don't have to, since I couldn't do anything about it, anyways. I'm just saying I have a problem, and that problem is VMI, Gardner Webb, Coastal, Presby, Chuck South, and Stony Brook. If we are ever going to get anywhere, it won't be by playing this crap year after year.

How is the Big South on it's way up? Stony Brook is an okay addition... but Coastal is nosediving hardcore, CSU will never be more than mediocre, VMI is terrible and I hope they get added to the PL, G-W always seems to not be as good as advertised... there's nothing good here! There's us. We're good. But this conference drags us down. You aren't going to convince me that this program has a future in this joke of a conference.

They go by the GPI poll. We were 14th in the Network poll. But even then, we deserved a shot to be in over Maine. What did Maine do against ranked teams? They lost. We beat 2 ranked teams this year and lost to one. So against ranked teams we were 2-1 and they were 0-3 with a loss to Iowa.
