If the folks that are complaining about him think the grass is greener on the previous coach's side of the fence...it could be because that side of the fence is greener b/c it is covered with manure.

Might be greener, but you still have to mow it.

OK - Bad game, let's (sort of) let it go, although Flame Fans Folks really enjoy dicing everything up.
Let's see how we do next game. We've heard about the recruiting class, so let's just figure that RMK will have them
ready to go next game.

The difference is the kids we have now are 18 years old and not 20 year old JC transfers with two years of college basketball experience. Maybe McKay should have gone that route. Get a bunch of JC transfers that may be more "talented" when they come, but that embarrass everyone off the court. IMO, the growing pains we are going through right now and the outcome we will see, will be a far cry from past regimes. I would rather get embarrassed on the court every once in awhile than be embarrassed on a daily basis by the actions of players off the court.
Let's create drama so we can justify poor play.

Drama would be a good word to define the past.

wow we did get killed on national tv but its the 2nd game of the season and people here are killing coach....teams lose all the time. If we go on a 6 game win streak this will be all forgotten. Show some support...i didn't hear anyone giving it to rocco when they laid a fat one to presby and lafayette and football was supposed to go undefeated....support your teams....yal are embarrassing.....if yal want to stick it to me that's fine but don't jump ship already...next thing you know ur gonna say u want dunton back

And you just proved you will never be happy with anything Liberty basketball for that very reason. You'll find the negative in it first and foremost because your favorite coach is no longer the head coach here.

The word I get on you is that you are one of the most critical so it is understandable why you would try to introduce some generalization to denegate others!

There are some real revisionist historians on here. Some I could have predicted, but I'm a bit surprised at some others. Manson pointed out something that I believe helps put this in perspective. Some of the best teams we have had suffered bad losses early in the year. As one who has been witness to pretty much the entire history of LU basketball, I can tell you that every coach we have had, including Jeff Meyer (whom I believe to this day should still be our coach) has had days when his team just didn't show up and got flat out embarassed. We are not as bad as we looked yesterday, and as Sly pointed out, it is not likely that UNCA is as good as they looked. There is a lot of basketball to be played, and this young team needs the support of it's fans.

there were things he was better at, thats for sure...but from an outsiders view he was losing control of the team...mckay has some good things going on...I wish we had recruited more big guys...but we still have a heck of a class, and its only mckay's second year...way too soon to judge if he is doing a good job or bad job, in my opinion...

but i am clueless and know nothing about basketball...right?? :D

Yeah- especially the on the court rants! Just loved them!

Why doesn't someone just start a "Basketball the way it was" forum. That is where we can go to read about how good we would be if:

1: We had one of our past coaches
2: We had jucos
3: We had TB playing
4:
5:

You can fill in the blanks.

Yes, the second game was ugly, but you're absolutely right, he needs more time. Kentucky has a great coach, and look at how they have started the season.
