I disagree and I don't even like her that much...I have read a lot the past 2 days...more then I think I have ever read..and if it were not for her being on the ticket with McCain the conservative turnout would've been a lot worse then it was...and it was pretty bad...McCain just didn't get very many conservative americans much to get excited about...the way the McCain campaign handle Palin is what hurt her the most...the McCain campaign was probably one of the worst run campaigns ever...

would Palin win?? probably not...but she would do better then McCain

just my opinion
romney and huckabee would of gotten just as many if not more of the conservative vote in my opinion.

she wasn't ready for it, that is for sure...but after she was chose she should not have been hidden away to appear as if they have something to hid...

like i said, I am not a Palin fan...I just don't think she is the reason why McCain lost..without her, it wouldn't of even been close in many states, in my opinion.

EDIT:

you are completely right about Huckabee and probably Romney as well..Palin, was not the right choice...but she isn't the one that cost McCain the election...McCain ran a terrible campaign...

They've already found everything they can possibly find on her. Not everyone has a big bad past to expose.

I can't believe people keep bringing up Huckabee. The guy has no shot nationally and pretty much succeeded in screwing the Republican party in the primaries. He's a populist centrist, sound familiar? If John McCain pastored a church, he'd be Mike Huckabee. We need CONSERVATIVES, ones that actually understand the concept and know how to express it.

Don't forget Cantor of Virginia and Ryan in Wisconsin. I was disappointed to see that Cantor twice voted for the financial bailout, but otherwise he'll be a great piece of the puzzle in the coming years.

had he picked the 2 i mentioned above or rice i think he would of fared better....it helped with the conservative vote but i think those 3 would of helped as well but also would of done a much better job of getting on the fence votes.

people with good charisma can generally deflect anything. so either the campaign needed to either not attack or attack full bore...i think it was half hearted and obama and his supporters were like "so what?" and so the american people were like "so what" if people saw more obama in islamic gear, che gueverra flags, rev wright things over and over and over again it hink it would of worked better....the attack ads i saw were namby pamby crap.

i agree. they only thing left for them to expose is her lack of knowledge on all things gvt. the problem is that they like to ask questions i didn't think even obama or mccain could answer

In 4 years look for a giant push by the GOP and an overhaul of congress similar to the Contract with America. The candidates are already being picked and groomed for the job
If you want Reaganomics, Huckabee isn't your guy.

For the record, Jindal is "Pro Life" and Pawlenty is "Pro Choice".

From Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Jindal
Bobby Jindal has a 100% pro-life voting record according to the National Right to Life Committee.[27] He opposes abortion without exception.[28][29] He does not condemn medical procedures meant to save the life of a pregnant woman that would indirectly cause the termination of the pregnancy.[30][29] Jindal also supports the use of emergency contraception in the case of rape.[29] He opposes embryonic stem cell research[31] and voted against increasing federal funding to expand embryonic stem cell lines.[27]

Let me throw some other names out there that will likely come into the conversation in the next couple of years ...
  • Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina

Former Colorado Governor Bill Owens (Native Texan, so he has that going for him)

General David Petraeus (commander of all forces in Iraq)

Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge (best remembered as Secretary of Homeland Security)

    South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford

Tom Ridge is further to the left than McCain. And Lindsay Graham doesn't have the backbone to make any serious considerations. We need to move past McCain and his clones and take a big step to the right. But we've got four years, and a lot happens in four years.

If he would legally change his name, a lot of people really like Jeb Bush, but that's just not gonna happen.

I'm pretty sure that whoever the GOP runs in 08 will get beat. No matter what happens the next four years, the dems and the media will spin it to be Bush's fault. 2012 is going to be our best chance at regaining the White House.

you can't say that until you see what obama does. all these people that voted for him are now expecting change, handouts, etc. if they see absolutely nothing, i don't see him getting as large of a turnout as he did this year

My problem with Palin isnt that I dont think she's capable b/c I really do think she is...but the BOTTOM line the reason McCain grabbed her was to try and get some of the pant suits to come on board....that didnt work, we got less then 10%...so not only does she have a negative of being a female going against her, but also that the women arnt flocking to her like we were hoping.

I like her though, I just dont see how it can happen

Did you run into some sort of time machine and are posting this from 2004?

condy would of done the exact same thing and also would of stole the black vote. the mccain camp fear was that she was too closely associated with Bush and their ticket was set yourself apart from bush as much as possible which i feel was a mistake. once there was the "i've voted with bush 90%of the time" video, there was nothing mccain could do..

as damning as that commercial was, I never understood why we didn't see a commercial with video of Joe Biden saying how much more qualified McCain was than Obama and how he wasn't ready. Those early Dem debates were goldmines of Obama bashing from his "friends".

that refers back to my post about the mccain campaign not being ferocious enough in their attack ads.....you can't kind of attack someone. you have to go full bore.. obama's wierd past and biden millions of gaffs should of been plaster on radio and tv....they weren't...

If Palin runs in 12, she won't make it through the primaries. Jindal will eat her lunch. Huckabee won't run again - he's trying to be the populist Jerry Falwell.

I don't think Obama will make it 8 years. He's going to be another JFK -- cut down in the prime of his presidency, idolized by millions, and one of the most ineffective presidents in history. Biden gets to be LBJ -- take the heat for the results of the things Obama sets in motion, and not run for a second term. All the GOP has to do now is find out who Nixon's going to be.
