Starting is overrated anyway, but I like having a true point (Sanders) as a starter, and we all know Curry is not coming off the bench. I think Ohman will be excellent in a Havlicek style 6th man role.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic...I'm still bitter from last year when he decided to stop being a spot shooter and instead try to take games over

Just guessing, but I'm saying:

G - Sanders
G - Curry
G - Ohman/Floyd (Ohman to start the season)
F - Smitty
F - Baker

Stephene will be the backup at PG. I think you'll see Austin and Carter come in at the 4/5 occasionally. I'm thinking Austin moreso than Carter for now.

Then again, this is all me guessing.

Unlike past years it seems we have many different lineups that can be effective.

Also, I think in the early part of the season we may not see too many minutes from Tyler simply trying to keep him healthy for conference play. I don't know how fast they'll throw him into things, so that could change up who starts down there as well.

That's possible. Only time will tell. I think Bill Weaver will see some time as well off the bench, at least while JA is out.

Any way we slice it, we're looking at two freshman starters which is going to take some time to adjust (possibly 3). It makes for a rough couple weeks at the beginning of the season.

Ohman reminds me of Ryan Mantlo with drama.

No way, Mantlo couldn’t shoot half as well as Ohman, but other than that Ohman couldn’t hold Ryan’s jock strap.

you really scared me when the first part of your post was making KO better, but you redeemed yourself with the last part

for some reason coach likes KO so im guessing he will start, but hopefully he'll be coming off the bench soon. i think floyd is much more talented than KO, so its just a matter of experience at first. i'd like to see saunders starting with curry and floyd, but starting 3 freshman could be bad with no experienced leadership besides smith

I couldn't care less if they are freshmen. if they are the best and most productive players, they need to be on the court. I get a kick out of teams that are bad teams and have bad players one year, but the next year predict success because they have "experience". Yeah........................ experience in losing. At least 2 of our Fresmen (Smith and Weaver) played in state championship games last year (Smith won). Talent and coaching is what wins games. with the amount of HS and AAU games these guys play now, a lot of Freshmen arrive ready to make immediate impact. I said it in a thread last year, but we have freshmen on this years team who have played more high-level basketball than Alex McClain had when he arrived on campus as a JUCO transfer who didn't play HS or AAU ball.

Other than calling Mclean, "McLain", I totally agree with that post. Especially in the Big South talented freshmen can make impacts right away. I can understand the inexperienced freshmen concept making more of an impact in a major program, such as Duke, UNC, etc. But even still, when you have talent you will make an impact right away. Just look at how many freshmen come in and go one and done like Mayo, Love, Rose...it just proves talent trumps experience every time.

Somebody PLEASE make a Dees & Blair reference about how they dominated the BSC tournament as FRESHMEN.

Yes, they did, but we also had a very senior laden team in ’04 which carried us up until that point: Mantlo, Sneed, Sarchet, and Turner. I think I'm missing someone too.
