Dude lets be reasonable. I believe Liberty is a good team but no way we lose by that much. So far this year you have played 2 D-II teams, a pretty good Youngstown squad, and a poor CCU and SBU squads. Not quite enough to understand how good you guys really are. I believe we are much better then CCU and SBU. Youngstown is a talented team that is having a medicore year, but still not the best barometer.

Liberty has some players and we have struggled a bit offensively this year. However, the Leopards come up big when it matters most. We took eventual champ App State to the wire in the 05 playoffs for example. I am not sure if we win, but I highly doubt we will lose by such a large margin.

Also a potential angle. Frankie T curses more then perhaps any other human being I have ever met. If your seats are anywhere near the Leopards sideline you will hear some vulgarity. That should be interesting.

Our seats will be VERY close to your coach. We will hear him if he curses. And we will more than likely say something about it.

Fun times will be had by all.

'05? and we were 1-10 in '05. that's comparing apples to zebras. in 2008 Lafayette has beaten teams that are 2-5, 1-4, 2-2 and 0-4. and not by very wide margins, either.

i'll leave some soap on the sideline for your coach :D

I'll be there! Although looking at the weather, I'm guessing there may be under 11,000 with me. I hope not, though.

I use the example of 05 to show you how the Leopards come up big in games that mean the most. Our coaches and players care about this game, we we come tp play I suspect. Why dont you tell me of stories about when Liberty played in the FCS playoffs??? Oh thats right you cant because it has never happened. We may not have scored a ton of points in our wins, but they were solid wins, sorry we all cant play multiple D-II teams per year

As for our coach. You are all in for a rude awakening if you think you can politely ask him to keep in down. Think Rick Pitino with a mean and nasty streak. He is cocky, brash and crude--the NE way and will be bringing the attitude to the bible belt. Pray for his and my soul.

I'll also pray that you learn how to use a spell check! Did you actually go to LC because you could certainly use one of their english courses!

Seriously?? I make a small typo and you feel the need to point it out?. You have nothing better to say then " Ha Ha you made a typo". Yes I am a Lafayette grad but you are clearly a superior person since you figured out how to use spell check and apply it on football message boards.

Frank...don't take it personally...we all give each other grief for little typos. Please stick around for the week and feel free to engage in trash talk.

BTW...you had better tell your coach to watch his mouth...we may sic our band director on him 8)

I'm a little cranky tonight. I just had knee surgery and now I have some sort of eye infection. I will only hide if the Leopards get crushed on Saturday. :o

We appreciate your passion, Franks. But keep in mind this isn't a PL tea party you are stepping into this Saturday. There should be a strong crowd that can handle a coach with the a limited vocabulary and temper control.

And yes we do enjoy discourse on here.

Franks, I hope you get to feeling better. I have eye infections frequently and they're quite annoying.

yeah you're right i can't. y'all have a head start on us, not fair. we've only been playing football here for about 20 years, y'all have been playing since Moses was a baby.

Love,
Mom

And the Leopards are in an auto bid league where most years a mediocre to slightly above average team gets in the dance. We have to be outstanding to even be considered.

FT, pay no attention to this guy. He apparently got chewed out by a female trainer and some band geeks this weekend and he's also a little bitter that no one feels sorry for him.

What you are saying is partially true, but our league's performance earned that auto-bid. Also many Patriot League teams have recieved at large bids. Lafayette recieved at at large bid to the playoffs of 05 for example and a few other PL teams have also recieved at large bids.

Fact Police: Actually, it's two. Colgate got an at-large bid in '98 and Lafayette in '05. Outside of that, the PL has been represented only by the league champion in every year since they got the autobid in '97. NOTE: Lehigh and Colgate both made a couple of appearances in the playoffs in the late 70's / early 80's, but the Patriot League was not formed until 1986 and all of those appearances were as Independents.

Not quite.

1998-- Lehigh and Colgate in the Playoffs like you said
1999- Lehigh and Colgate in the Playoffs again-- not sure which was at large
2004- Lehigh and Lafayette in the playoffs - Lehigh got the auto
2005- Lafayette and Colgate with Lafayette getting the at large

http://www.fcspreview.com/history.html

So actually fact police you are wrong. The Patriot league has recieved an at large bid 4 times in the last 10 years, not too shabby. This validates our auto-bid in our 2nd place team can make the playoffs quite often. How may autobids did the Big South have ever? Coastal carolina that one time?
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
