I hear you, but name one person on that list that will honestly say the following:

"If you dont want to wear red stay home"
"If you dont want to wear red then change schools"

It's really something you suggest rather than demand...it's not something to lose your cool over (not saying you have but others in the past really have) and just roll your eyes at when you see them

I guess it's easier for us who would have to sit through year after year of dreadful football with only about 15 people in the stands...most of these guys only had 1 year (if event that) of bad football and then saw a complete turn around so you get spoiled in a sense

People who show up to games wearing the wrong color because they don't care or don't know or otherwise just throw on whatever shirt they want to impress the girls/guys there is fine. I don't expect them to have a color inspector at the gate. I know a ton of people show up in random stupid colors and that's fine, I don't expect perfection.

The issue is not people wearing the wrong colors. It's the fact that people are trying to start trends and groups and large amounts of people all wearing the wrong color, when they KNOW what the right color to wear is. These are people who KNOW that we wear red, because they are people who have been to games wearing red before. They just decided that they are going to "Play AD for a day" and choose the color for the next home game, and that's just frustrating.

I dunno, I don't know why I am so passionate about this but I guess I just fail to understand why there always seems to be a need for some kind of counter culture, why there has to be blatant attempts to go against the AD's, when the goal is to make the sea of red, to be united as a crowd, to have the best homefield advantage we can have.

So just because we used to have bad crowds, we can just accept the fact that people are going to recruit hundreds of ignorant students to destroy the atmosphere of the crowd?

From the Facebook group
"Tell All Your Friends so we can show up with a big crowd of blue to watch LU go 6-0!!!!"

124 people already joined. That's in a matter of hours. Imagine if by Saturday, 800 people have joined. There will be 800 blue shirts, probably a thousand people who show up wearing whatever they want (as usual)... that's a huge chunk of our crowd wearing the wrong colors.

I dunno, maybe I am spoiled, but I would never think of wearing anything else to a sporting event, so I guess I can't understand why other people would.

No, it's just when your used to bad crowds you'll take all come'rs wearing bathing suits, chicken outfits, santa suits anything as long as you show up

I also would say being loud is a far greater home field advantage than everyone in the stands looking the same. Which I'm not sure if I need to connect the two but I will anyways, you can be loud in any color

If you guys haven't figured out the problem we have with this by now, you never will.

I never said I don't want these kids at games. I appreciate that they care, and I appreciate them trying to do something.

However, I do not appreciate them going out and telling people to do something different. If they want to show up like that then great, whatever. The problem comes when they go out of their way to get other people to join in their group of friends to go against what the school is promoting.

Wearing blue because our team wears blue on the field is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my life. If we used that logic we would wear white to every home basketball game and we would have to call Coach Pinder and Coach Toman before volleyball and baseball games to find out what color we should wear because they change up their uniforms.

We have different expectations. We're not jaded. We expect nothing but the best because since we have been here, that's the direction we have been going.

People showing up int he wrong color is fine.

Loud people who forgot to wear red are welcome.

People who are starting a group to get noticed and make a scene by wearing a different color as a group is different, and I hope you can see the difference?

In the end, if they all show up and are loud and make Elon have to waste a time out or make GW mis-hear and audible or scare the crap out of Stony Brook, that will be okay. I just wish that Liberty Students didn't always have to try and make a scene by going against such a simple request by the AD's.

For fear of only stirring the put any further, I'll be brief.

The original post about school colors makes some sense. Utilizing the other school color for the one game against a Big South school who uses red & white as their primary colors shows some creativity IMHO. It is not as if students would be stepping away from school colors.

These guys put up signs in Demoss to wear blue on Saturday. That's the ultimate disrespect to everything the athletic department and school are trying to do.

Thanks SJ for your calm answer. I see your point on the Movement in the opposite direction thing. I just didn't see the point in getting so worked up as to tell people to change schools!

I don't like it. I'll admit it. My reason is because I have been a part of the movement to get red in the stands. I have helped with it. I have spent my time, my money, and my energy to help spread things. I drove five hours this summer to come to a meeting about the red hot campaign because I cared enough to make things the best they possibly could.

So you're ok with people going against the school's administration when we have a couple thousand prospective students on campus coming to the game and wanting to know more about Liberty?

fair enough, we all have insignificant things in our daily lives that drive us nuts...and you admit this is one for you. No big deal then.

In light that it is CFAW we should stick with red. But seriously all we are arguing about is FREAKING COLOR!!!! These prospective students are looking for consistency. Red is consistent.

Once again, we're not arguing about what these students are choosing to wear to games. We're arguing that they're promoting others to do something that is against the wishes of the administration.

I think this could be good though...we proved earlier that everyone needs a good rival. There needs to be a LUalazy's or something that can be the arch nemesis of the LUantics....it will keep both parties on their toes

There is a reason the "Red Hot" campaign was started & being pushed. "Blue Hot" was shot down.

I highly doubt if you wore this jersey:

that you would be accused of supporting this team:

simply because they both use green.

The "wear blue because the other team wears red" is quite possibly the dumbest idea I have ever heard.

Gotta come up with something better than that.

With all instututions whether universities or companies. There are always people that are going to go against the flow of the administration. If they try something and then they realize that the administration is right, they will eventually fizzle out. It is up to those that are for the administration to continue to promote the administration's goals and wishes to the students. Don't give the other side airtime and they will realize that their cause is just a lost cause and is not worth going after. I'm sure that if you go to a UVA game against Syracuse you will see a sea of orange in the entire crowd. Both of their colors are orange. I'm just saying...
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
