I voted never but that is because I am running around doing 15 different things for the band and trying to squeeze dinner in at the same time before we march to the stadium

Traditions don't start overnight. Factor int he weather and the confusion probably led to questions of whether it was happening or not. I wouldn't give up on the concept.

I still think one of the problems with greeting the players is that they only walk 20 feet from the buses to the locker rooms. At all of these other schools people keep mentioning, there is a longer walk where the bus parks away from the locker room and the players walk in from there.

That should make it easier to get going with less distance to cover. At most schools here in Texas there are cheerleaders and several band members playing to enhance the experience.
