I was just looking for a way to get a hold of her when I checked facebook. Her status is not becoming of a young champion for Christ. Let's just say it's got one of the more severe of the verbal 18 rep offenses in it. This girl reeks of going to Liberty to get some attention. And she's getting it.

Now this person has gotten to me...

For years, Liberty University's crest has read "Knowledge Aflame." However, I propose that it should be changed to "Liberals Aflame." Why? I think it should be due to the fact that if you're anything less than ultra-conservative at their school, you're pretty much burned at the stake. At a school that teaches that Christianity, a supposed peaceful religion that celebrates the acceptance of all people, I've never seen more hate and bigotry in my entire life.

Today, I was speaking with a former classmate and fellow Obama supporter from Liberty. He congratulated me on our recent victory in Obama being the presumptive Democratic nominee. I thanked him and asked if he was ready to do some work on campus and in Lynchburg, to get Obama elected in November. His response sickened me. He told me he wasn't sure because his girlfriend (who also attends Liberty) wasn't too fond of his support for Obama, as she is pretty set in her conservativeness.

I went from sickened to very angry. Is Liberty University getting THAT bad at brainwashing people? I mean, here is my former classmate, who just in February, was ready to help lead a group of young Obama supporters to making a huge statement that they support something different, in the midst of mediocrity and repetitiveness. Now, he's reduced to being afraid of showing support for his candidate, because his girlfriend has been trained to brainwash people into being conservative. What kind of sick school is this?

I was so angry, that I went on. I guess I was also reeling from my former articles on Southern conservatives' voting habits. I was angry and wanted to know why these conservatives are so bent on abortion, when there's a war still going on. I reasoned that killing is killing, no exceptions, in my book. These men at war were once innocent children in their mothers' wombs. So, why is it okay to send them off to war, with a chance of getting killed, but we have to try our best to birth babies instead of killing them? I mean, I am not a sadist who is pro-abortion. I just want to know what the difference is. It's so wrong.

After fifteen years of listening to the church telling me what to think and do, I am a free spirit. It's true that every action has a consequence, but the word "can't" comes too often sometimes, and I choose to live my life by what I CAN do, and I decided what that is. I am a supporter of gay rights and a woman's right to choose. Ergo, in a very conservative geographical location, I am quite liberal. I don't fancy those who push their religion and beliefs down others' throats. It doesn't make them want to accept your view more. I am not perfect... I make mistakes, and I like to roll with friends who overlook them. I've been told I am a bit of a hippie. I just care about peace and the environment. I am in my twenties and still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, and that doesn't bother me much. I enjoy good (and bad) music, and am pretty chill. What more do you want to know?

Wait, no, she can't leave, because being a liberal at LU and openly supporting Nobama gets her publicity, and of course that's what she wants. while a few of you are at least being polite, and are actually wanting to discuss stuff, most of you are being completely rude and making stupid jokes. like, the one about us 'reading stuff about ComicCon and dressing up as star wars characters'. we never have, but so what if we did? does that mean we are stupid? you have time to be on this forum for the Flames and make thousands of posts.

some of you say 'where is she now?' well, after most of you spent your time making fun of random crap that's not even relevant to the issue, why do you expect her to come back? perhaps if just the people who actually want to discuss it instead of saying 'you're an idiot because you support obama' were here she would want to, but it seems silly to try to defend yourself to a group of people composed mostly of people who judge you by a few pictures on facebook. I'm sure every one of you has at least one picture of yourself doing something that makes you look like an idiot, yet I'm not posting it online and saying you look like an idiot.

I don't really agree with people being rude about it, but when you come on a board with empty threats about taking legal action and then don't respond to any of the real questions it opens yourself up to criticism..I don't agree with some of the things said...but thats what you get when you simply hit and run....
