Alexei Ramirez just made one of the sickest plays I've ever seen...not the best but one of the sickest this year no doubt. I'll try to find this video tomorrow

What's your favorite play of all time?

Mine has to be Ozzie Smith when he was diving up the middle and the ball hit a rock and he bare handed it while in the air....sick

Yeah I posted in your thread but I guess you deleted it...

They say this guy could be an All-Star SS in the future...I'd have to agree...he's way to athletic to be a 2nd baseman....that's one of the sickest play's I've seen

As a Cubs fan, I have nothing to say about the white sox that is positive. Unfortunately, I dont have much positive to say about the Cubs right now either.

( I say this because Ramirez plays for the white sox for those who dont know)

cheer up, my man. Sori is back and so is the offense. It's gonna happen!

Oh, sorry about that...favorite play? Not the best ever, but David Wright's barehanded over the shoulder grab a couple of years ago comes to mind.

You mean the "I could have used my glove but since I am a d-bag I used my barehand" catch?

No thanks.

Jim Edmonds over the head diving catch, or -shudder- Endy Chavez's robbed homerun are my all time favorites...

Didnt Endy rob two in one game? Maybe it was back to back games....I remember something like that though

When Derek Jeter chased down the pop-up in Yankee Stadium during the postseason and came out of the stands all bloody.

Except that wasn't in the postseason. That happened during a regular season game, in July, I believe.

And it would have been a great play -- except he didn't really need to jump into the stands. A much better play done by Jeter, which actually was from the postseason, was the "flip" to Posada to get Giambi out.

That was a good play, yet you'll see the same play made about once a month in the Majors (a guy on the Reds, I think it was Freel, made an even more impressive dive in the stands that same season as Jeter), but they don't receive the same amount of fanfare as when Jeter did it.

The best play I've seen in person was Devon White practically climbing over the fence at Camden Yards to rob a homerun.

1. "The Catch" Willie Mays 1954 World Series. (Sly probably saw it live.)
2. Jim Edmonds over the shoulder diving catch.
3. Nolan Ryan's 7th no hitter.

Which Jim Edmonds over the shoulder catch? He probably made at least 50 amazing diving and/or over the shoulder catches in his prime. He wasn't the fastest guy out there by any means and made every play look hard but he was amazing with the glove.

Some of those plays were just sick. One of the best gloves I ever saw at shortstop. Too bad he broke his arm back in 2000 and never really recovered. Since he had no bat and his fielding was diminished he was out of the league at age 32. Kinda sad.

Yeah Edmunds has a ton of good catches but there is that one dive that is head and shoulders above everyone else's

Yeah I agree, I'm not sure Jeter had to run into the stands...it's funny all the Yankee Haters say he didnt have to and all the Yankee lovers say he did

The flip in the postseason was sick...just born to play the game is about all you can say about those instincts

Amazing play. How did they rule that? (I know...foul ball...) But really, was it a re-do or did they call it a ball?
