The race for America's next president is heating up in our area. You've already seen the ads on television and Saturday you may have even gotten a knock at the door. Supporters of democrat Barack Obama (web|news|bio) canvassed Lynchburg neighborhoods Saturday morning. They were making sure people were registered to vote and spreading the word about their candidate. Republican presidential candidates have gotten used to winning Virginia, because a Democrat hasn't won since 1964. But these supporters say Obama may have a chance. Republican presidential candidates have gotten used to winning in Virginia and among evangelical Christians. But many experts say Virginia is very much in play and Obama is working hard to make inroads with the faith community. Now there's a group of Liberty University (web) students supporting Obama. The group's leader says it's been an uphill battle. In this conservative stronghold, you find Michelle Miller. She's the head of LU Students for Barack Obama.
