George Carlin, the influential comedian whose routines used profanity, scatology and absurdity to point out the silliness and hypocrisy of human life, has died. He was 71.

Do any of the old hags remember listening to his comedy albums on 8-tracks? :oldhag

I am a big comedy guy and I liked George. He was very smart and clever. Of course some of his views were the opposite of mine but I have managed to separate personal beliefs from Entertainment. I have been watching CNN and FOX a lot today and they say he did 14 HBO specials. Also, Amy Winehouse has emphezema and gas prices are really high right now

He was a MUCH better voice for Thomas the Tank Engine than Baldwin.

I'll take your word for it papa. I do notice that a ton of voice over work in commercials is done by Alec Baldwin, Keifer Sutherland, Donald Sutherland, Morgan Freeman, Forrest Whitaker etc. People don't believe me when I say that but you can recognize their voices so easily. I just heard one by Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order SVU. Ok, off topic.

You are correct in your observations of those individuals. It is an easy way to to pad their bank accounts.

Carlin could be funny at time, but he was more of a "leave it" for me. He was especially unfunny as he got older. He was more of an angry commentator.

I think the real question here is: Is the Nasonex bee really antonio banderas or just some guy who's supposed to sound like him?

I got sick of his holier-than-thou crap real fast. It seemed like everything he said was some variation on "why do people park in the driveway and drive on the parkway?"

I always found him to be very funny. Controversial and offensive, yes, but still very funny.

I walked out on him a few years ago. Way too filthy and vulgar. He made Richard Prior sound like a sunday school teacher.

I liked most of his stuff that I heard. Some of it was really holier than thou and annoying but for the most part, I liked him.

I was actually working his show as a fireman. (they do that here in Denver). I knew he wasn't clean, but seriously he was the most offensive I've ever seen. Not just language, but other material as well. When he started to talk about a horrible car crash he witnessed and made fun of the victims, it had no humor in it for me. Just my opinion, but he was low class. He just freed up some air for someone else to breathe.

No doubt. She's just filthy. She's always on the celebrity roasts on Comedy Central. Way over the line. Funny at times, but way over the line.
