UNC knocked LSU out last night. Georgia vs Stanford and Fresno State vs. UNC for spots in the championship series.

Cal State Fullerton is NOT Fresno State. And according to MapQuest, Fullerton, CA and Fresno, CA are 245 miles apart. But Fresno State does have 18,000 students, which makes it larger than UVa, but much smaller than UGA's 33,000 enrollment.

As for me, I still hold it against Fresno State for killing the first five years of the Texans existence by pawning off a QB on an unsuspecting city.

Hmmm, this is a tough one. On the one hand, I want to pull for Fresno State because they're underdogs from a non-BCS conference and it would mean that my SEC friends would not be able to talk trash about how superior the SEC is in "everything that matters." On the other hand, Georgia is closer to Virginia and I don't want Sly to be able to have any more ammo for his "East Coast is Overrated" argument, especially after all the ACC teams disappointed again in Omaha.

Great game last night even though the wrong Bulldog team won.

Don't watch much college baseball other than this series...LU fans are sports knowledgeable...why are they not using wooden bats? Aluminum bats at this level of play? The ball comes off the bat so fast that it just seems lethal in some cases. These athletes are too powerful for aluminum bats. Comments?

Because they don't have to. Aluminum bats are an advantage and they'd be stupid not to use them. As for safety, there is no such thing. You're taking your safety in your hands when you step out there. A line drive off of a wooden bat is going to do just about as much damage as a line drive off of an aluminum bat.

Is this mercy-killing or cross-pollenation?
