I know Doc was weak for us, but he is doing something right in Boston. EVen if what he's doing is just letting the players do more and letting things happen without him, then that's good coaching. Plus, he's WAY better behind the mic then the "Zen Master" who sounds more like a whiny baby.

Doc is not a good coach...period...the lakers are playing like a team that doesn't want it...there is nothing you could say that will change my mind on this...

plus doc has always said that right things...he sounded good while in Orlando...that doesn't make him a better coach....Phil is still the better coach...most of his players just look like they are another year away....it happens....

Doc' coaching good in this series. I think he's generally speaking a terrible coach but he's made the right moves in this series. How much of that was his assistants? I don't know. Either way, it reflects on him.

The MVP of the Celtics is sitting on the bench: Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau is the mastermind behind this Celtics defense that has been simply been nothing short of maginificent (when they decide to play it, that is). He should be a top candidate for any team's head coaching job, but since the NBA likes to recycle head coaches just like every other pro league, who knows how long it will take him to become a head coach if he wants it.

I think the role players from the Celtics have done great. James Posey hit some big shots. Eddie House had been standing on the sidelines like a modern day ML Carr and I kept wondering like Realist when he would get the nod over 13,000 year old ET Cassell. I like Eddie's energy and he can flat out shoot. I love Phil going to Farmar on Eddie, that is no match. PJ Brown was the biggest pickup for the C's late...where would the Celts be w/out him..

The Celtics played their best last night with PJ Brown on the bench. He has made some valuable contributions, but last night he was better suited for the bench without a doubt. talk about a player playing great in limited PT, how about tony allen? he only played for 135 seconds, but the Celtics outscored the Lakers by 10 in that brief time!

On another note, this series, especially game 4, should solidify anyone as a blithering idiot who says Kobe is as good as Jordan. Jordan didn't lose many final games, he didn't lose seven out of nine at any point in time, and he didn't allow his team to blow 20+ point leads at home or on the road, and he certainly didn't allow his team to get dominated like Kobe and the Lakers have.

Did anyone hear Kobe's post-game news conference, or at least the highlights of it?

I agree... I was sitting there last night saying to myself, "No one deserves a ring more than you do KG, but youre going to have to be tried... All the crap the media said about PP's injury and coming back annoyed me a bit...but it doesn't change how good PP has been in the finals....

It should be interesting to see how KG responds to his choke job. I like KG, but he just hasn't played up to a championship player caliber level. He's been rebounding pretty well, and other than last night's debacle, had been playing good defense for most of the series. However, he has completely choked on the offensive end numerous occassions in this series and it's quite pathetic for a guy his size with the athleticism and skills he possesses. Considering how emotional he is, going back home and having the raucous home crowd could energize him to grow a pair and close out the deal, or he could dwell on the two gigantic missed free throws and suck again. It's all up to him in his head. Doc Rivers and his staff are going to make the proper adjustments to put him in a better position to be successful, but it's up to Garnett to deliver.

he works hard...this is true, i will never argue how hard he works...but how many hard workers are in the nba? that doesn't make them great...he is not a great player..just a good one....there is a difference...and PP is far more valuable in how well the team plays the KG...which is why they were able to sustain their attack last night even though KG was on the bench....

KG is very valuable, even if he isn't making shots, because he can help spread the defense and allow folks like Pierce, Allen, and Rondo (when he actually decides to make layups) to drive to the hoop for layups, obviously plays good defense (he is defensive player of the year, afterall), and can be a good leader on the court!

he is a good defender...this is true...but i am not sure if he is the true leader of that team...he does a lot of little things that all teams need...and the problem he always had with the Twolves is that he is not the kind of guy that can lead a team to a championship...he is better suited as the guy that does the dirty work kind of a player...

I would never say KG isn't a good player...he is very good...just not great....not even the best player on the Celtics...he does, however, provide the Celtics with something they have needed for a while...someone tough down low...

with all that said, he is so incredibly over rated its not even funny....i laugh everytime someone on ESPN or TNT or whatever goes on about KG's greatness, the same way I laugh whenever someone attempts at comparing Kobe to Jordan...of course now those guys are feeling incredibly stupid because it is now clear that comparing Kobe to Jordan is just insult to Mike himself...

The triumvirate of officials chosen is about as bad as it can get and Joey Crawford is horribly biased in favor of the Lakers, and he's the lead official. And David Stern is trying to convince me and others that the NBA isn't fixed??

Well Allen's son got out of the hospital Sunday I believe. If warmups are any indication, Ray Allen should be looking pretty good because he was apparently draining every single shot he threw up there, including running threes and fadeaway threes.

If Perkins can push around that creampuff Gasol for just 5 minutes that will be good enough. Intimidate him to start the game and he'll revert back to his soft as putty state he was in for the first 4 games. Heck, even deliver a flagrant foul to send a message would be a good move early in the game. Intimidate Gasol and the Lakers early and their done.

All I know si that if the Refs end up becoming the focus of the game and screw the Celtics, David Stern better have some good body guards or the Bostonians might try and gut him.
