Oil's perfect storm may blow over

The perfect storm that has swept oil prices to $132 a barrel may subside over the coming months as rising crude supply from unexpected corners of the world finally comes on stream, just as the global economic downturn begins to bite.

The forces behind the meteoric price rise this spring are slowly receding. Nigeria has boosted output by 200,000 barrels a day (BPD) this month, making up most of the shortfall caused by rebel attacks on pipelines in April.

This thread is funny because everybody basically agrees, yet we're still stating things in an argumentative way like we disagree.

If any of you have any cash you can invest, I would recommend getting into alternative energy....wind energy will be a bigger player in a few more years.

Take the I-10 drive to El Paso and you will see a few of the windmills and see how it could help lower the price of oil.......b/c of less demand of oil (atrain, I figured you would know supply and demand being in the MBA program)

Great ideal, wind power driving down the cost of oil. Now we need someone to sell wind mills for cars :D

wind power is one of the least practical forms of energy currently developed, I believe. of course I could be getting it confused with something else, but I'm pretty sure wind power was the source of energy that I read about...

umm I am posting from Austin, not Houston....

I think Wind farms are a very resourceful way to produce energy b/c the wind is free.....we could always try nuclear power, it does have a better safety record than everything else we have tried.

The overreaction to 3 Mile Island and Chernoble which pretty much halted the construction of new nuclear power plants in the US was a blunder of historic proportions. By producing electricity with nuclear energy, enormous quantities of fossel fuels could be saved for transportation. With the technology we have now, those accidents would never have happened.
