For those traveling to Lynchburg -avoid the Ramada Inn on Odd Fellows RD.

The room I had was disgusting. We stayed only one night, but I just hope my family and I haven't caught some disease too embarrasing to mention.I feel unwashed. I had friends who stayed there and had the same problem.

During checkout, they didn't even ask how the stay was.I had to wait during checkout for the front desk Nancy-boy to finish his swear word tirade on a personal call before he would help me.They do let you check-in early, so they have that going for them.

I lived there for about three months in the first year of East Campus. It wasnt all that bad of a place at that point. Obviously things changed since then...

When I was at UNCA...our Assistant MBB Coach booked us in the RAMADA LIMITED right off of Main Street and US-29...now its the TRAVEL LODGE or Econo Lodge or something. We called it the Ramada REALLY Limited.

They put y'all in a Ramada? I thought the Big South normally put teams for conference tournaments in one of the Choice Hotels lines (Sleep Inn, Quality Inn, etc...)

Is the Ramada the hotel near the Main US Post Office and Outback? If so, then yes LU is going to be using that for student housing next year. Also, Walden Pond's (on Lakeside Drive) long-term goal is to be entirely for college student housing (not sure how that would work in the summer when students are gone) and LC has reached an agreement with them to use it for student housing, along with the new townhouses being constructed down the road from Walden Pond.

The best hotel I've ever stayed at is the Sheraton Hotel. Really expensive - the room I stayed in was $325 for 1-2 people - but if you can afford it you won't leave disappointed at all.

Wow 325? That is ridiculous. I do hotwire and priceline and never pay more than 80 - 90 bucks for a hotel. I like the Shereton here in Richmond. I used to live there when we had our house in Lynchburg and I worked here but before we got the apt. The Hyatt is pretty good too. Those are all 3 to 4 star hotels. I have stayed in 4 or 5 star hotels in Philly for less than 60 bucks using hotwire. Anyway, the Ramada has a tradeout with Liberty athletics and the talent for the MASN football games had to stay there. They had the same complaints. I would rather pay my own way than stay in a flee bag motel. I can't wait to see the 2 new hotels in Lynchburg, especially the one across from the airport.

well the business payed for it, i was giving that figure based on what the back of the door said, so it could have been less. And this was a REALLY nice hotel, nice enough to have really formal weddings for rich people - they were having one in the ballroom when I was there - and all the employees were dressed in suits, minus the mexican janitors lol.

Seriously? LU is going to house students at the Ramada? I usually use Hotwire for hotels, but I had not planned on staying in Lynchburg that night. My friend and his family extended their trip in Lynchburg after graduation, so I decided to go to Lyncburg after flying into Raleigh. They were at the Ramada, so I called them and booked a room. The crazy part is they changed to the Kierkely because it was too disgusting and didn't really mention it.

But, I am currently spending the other 8 days with the family at a cottage off a private lake near Big Island - so life is good now.

yeah that is the one. They put all the guys there the first year of East Campus and the girls were at either the Days Inn or the Holiday Inn Select. They would bus the kids from the hotels into campus every day. Id use the bus to go to the bank because the Days Inn was right next to the bank I used. It was so much fun having cable those few months we were in there

I like the Hilton Garden Inn too....I stayed in one a few weeks ago in Northern VA and will stay in one this weekend up in Philly as well. Does anyone know what the hotel across from the airport is going to be?

Their problem was they didn't have furniture. That's why they didn't open for graduation. Everything else was ready.

I was told they just couldn't get it in time. My grandpa had reservations there and they called and said they wouldn't be able to open because the furniture wasn't getting to them soon enough.
