Sarasota's Jenkins sweeps up awards after big freshman season at Liberty

Jordan Jenkins didn't just make an impact her freshman year at Liberty University. She made history.
Jenkins swept the major awards handed out recently at the Big South women's tennis awards banquet. She not only was a unanimous All-Conference selection in singles and doubles, but Jordan was named Freshman of the Year ... and Player of the Year.
Jenkins turned down scholarship offers to more well-known schools because, as she said, she would rather, "Be part of a program on its way up than a program that's been there."
Great find Sly. JJ is definitely an amazing player but also an amazing person. We are very blessed to have her here at LU. Next year, with a vastly tougher schedule, she will face more challenges and will definitely rise to the ocassion.
