yes my ticket is sold. my friend who sits next to me handles the brokerage since im up in VA. i doubt he would sell his. what a horrible way to end that game with that puck trickling in! oh well, it was an exciting game, and im sure game 7 will be just as good. i knew this series would go seven, i just hopw the eastern champ still has enough in the tank to get edmonton.

Well Carolina lucked out and won the series, but Buffalo ran them right to the end and that with being down 4 defensive players. Carolina better hope some Edmonton players are hurt. Edmonton will take the Canes as it took all they got just to beat Buffalo and Buffalo wasn't even at full strength.

I don't think they lucked out. The second goal from Buffalo was luck. I ran upstairs and high fived my whole family when the clock struck zero. My dad looked at me like I was an idiot and my brother had to ask me what I was so happy about before he would give me a high five.

Edmonton will end their season. I just don't think Carolina played as well as I would have thought against a weakened Buffalo defense. I think Edmonton will have the edge.

Yes, Edmonton would have had the edge against Buffalo as well and most likely would have ended Buffalo's season with as many injuries as they had. Having seen how Carolina and Buffalo mixed things up, I think Edmonton will give Carolina a much tougher road and Carolina let this series reach seven. At first I thought whoever won the Eastern Conference would win it all, but not after seeing this series, and that goes for either team.

I think the East was just that tough this year, and I think Carolina has more than they showed in this series. They played hard, but not up to their full potential. If they show up, they'll give Edmonton a good run.

However, I'm just happy to see the Stanely Cup Finals coming to Raleigh. That's big time for me, a Triangle native.

flamesfan, Im surprised that you are being a sore loser! you guys had every oppty to win that series despite the injuries and you could not close the deal. the canes capitalized on those opptys and won the series. you sound like your sore loser coach lindy ruff. and now you say edmonton will beat carolina?? sour grapes brother...sour grapes. this is a classic series of a better skilled carolina team and the gritty will of edmonton. i really believe carolina will win in 6, but im sure it will be a good series. LUConn a canes hater huh?? well some whale fans have come around, and some never will. if you guys would have supported your team, they would not have moved....sour grapes again! i do like the whale b/c w/o them the canes do not exist, and in fact purchased a ron francis blue jersey from the whalers on e-bay. but your bitterness must end as with some of the babies from ESPN who continue to reference the canes as the whalers...get over it already!!!!!!! i am glad you joined the thread, b/c flamesfan, el scorcho and myself seem to be th eonly ones who care except GMTM, who will get his first stanley cup expeerience monday night!

BTW, flamesfan, both teams got a lucky goal, and as a true hockey fan you know the puck bounces crazy, esp. in the playoffs. congrats to buffalo on an excellent season!

Back in 02 when the Hurricanes made the finals I hung a Hurricanes jersey outside my house for the entire time the finals were going on. I didn't have a flag so the jersey had to do.

Smoothie, even though my Flyers took an early exit, I have still cared enough to at least follow this thread. I don't have OLN in my hotel so I couldn't watch but I def love Hockey esp. in the playoffs....Good luck to the Canes. I will be rooting for them in the Finals. Maybe I will take a trip down to Raleigh to see the cup in person. Have not seen it since I was a kid when we held it for 2 years in Philly....Good times.

SCAR...you know how we do it!!!! i know you are down with the flyers and thanks for the support of the canes. it is the on team in the triangle that everyone gets behind. with is being a major college territory, you always have biases, but with the canes they galvanize the triangle, plus it would be great to see the cup remain in the south..i know that irks the bluebloods, but hey.... it is what it is!

Sore loser Just a disappointed Sabres fan, but hey I'm a Bills fan too so nothing new . I told you I liked Carolina too, I even have some Carolina pennants as well as Sabres pennants. Buffalo put up a great fight, but in the end I think was just prolonging what was a reality of injury upon injury. As a said, I thought before the Sabres and Canes met, that whoever won would most likely bring the Stanley Cup home. However, after seeing how the weakened Sabres took Carolina to seven games, it made me rethink.

Even if Buffalo had got bye Carolina, the injuries which kept adding up, would have been the death warrant only by Edmonton. So it's not the fact that Carolina won, it's how the series was played. If Carolina struggled to defeat the Sabres, the Oilers seem just as determined a foe and are the underdog as well.

Yes, lucky bounces are part of the game as are questionable penalties. Carolina's coach was crying the blues regarding game 6, it's part of the game of hockey.

This upcoming series will really show if Carolina deserves the Stanley Cup and if so, then congrats, but the Sabres/Canes series has placed doubts that Carolina really is able to defeat Edmonton.
