Okay, perhaps you would like to look at the times that dook was the number one seed....what they were expected to do & what they did? You know that goes both ways.

Duke hasn't been a threat to win the championship since 2001 and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. Meanwhile, UNC was the consensus pick and got completely embarassed by Kansas.

I'd say the same thing if Duke was the overall #1 seed.

Duke wasn't expected to make the Sweet 16 as a 2 seed? Either you're just covering for your favorite team or you're an absolute idiot.

Very few expected Duke to get past WV or Arizona for that matter...only people that expected Duke to get much farther was a homer, like myself.

I personally have memphis by 2 and the over at 148...I go to Liberty so I would never gamble but if I did I would buy more points to over triple my payback and have Memphis winning by 7 as well as the over. Actually, About $400 worth of that bet

screw carolina fans. there is difference between “throwing out some crap” the second unc loses their FINAL game of the season, and “throwing out some crap” the second duke loses ANY game DURING the season.

Ummm.......dook returned quite a few players on their '02 team & everyone was picking them to win another back-to-back title.

Here are there #1 seeds since '01:

'02 lost to No.5 Indiana in S16
'04 lost to No. 2 UCONN in F4
'06 lost to No. 4 LSU in S16

So, by your logic, UNC as a No. 1 losing in the F4 to a No. 1 seed, is worse than the above losses?

Thanks for the sarcasm (if it was meant as such). I just never was a fan of either (maybe its because Im a Virginian or something I don't know), and I am just turned off by everybody digging in like the two sides in World War II.

Bryson, I don't even read the stuff Dickens posts because the only time he ever posts is to spew on Duke and most of the stuff is complete crap that people could say about any team.

The same type threads were made about Carolina when they were trailing in the second half. They hadn't even lost yet. Carolina fans weren't complaining about those threads. I'm sorry, it just bugs me when people complain about something and then do the exact same thing they're complaining about.

I'm ok with you posting the stuff because you have every right to as a Duke fan. However, if you post it, you can't complain when it comes from the other side.

Okay, good. So take LU...then put Coastal, Radford, or Winthrop (whichever you hate the most) 8 miles down 29. LU fans & their fans go to the same mall, same restaurants, same movie theaters...players go to the same barber shop. Each school constantly trying to "one-up" the other in EVERYTHING (academics, athletics, community outreach, etc...).

Then, put their men's team in the Top 10, pretty much year in and year out. Oh, and there is 7 NCAA titles between the two, plus multiple Big South Titles (regular season and/or tournament). Oh yeah, we both recruit some of the same players, on top of all that. Mix in some national players of the year, first round NBA draftees, & Hall of Fame coaches....all with opposite philosophies about how to play the game. Throw in constant national media attention fueling the fire & maybe you'll get a taste of why Bryson, JDUB, SuperJon, TDDance, dickens, & myself dig into the trenches. It's a rivalry...and a darn good one, at that.
