Thanks...I am happy that I amuse you. I am also pointing out an honest fact. Toman has already started tapping into the local ranks and it will pay dividends...not just for pitching, but for position players as well. This will only help attract more local fans to come watch us play.

Also realize, all the haters out there, that it will take time for Toman to get his type of players in, just as it would with a new coach of any team. Liberty DOES have a national recruiting base that has been firmly established by both Royer (and I will give him major credit for that, and by Pastors before him). Coach Toman will take it to the next level. The early signing period brought in some outstanding talent that may well compete immediately for playing time next year.

Come on they are alot more fundamental and having fun.
unlike you, i don't blame this year's problems on current coaches....in any sport. you don't want to go there with me.
All I know is where we were and now where we are. So what is with your big threat? :flamingdevil

Nope, fumble loves to take shots at RD and Royer as much as possible, its just pretty comical at this point. Like when he comments " i wish he had recruited this guy harder" - like he knows how many times the kid was contacted, its so dumb is funny pretty much.

Well...SOMEONE has to be the anti-checkmate.

(and YES...I happen to know quite a bit about players who were or were not recruited to LU with local ties).

How is it a shot if it's true? Royer couldn't or wouldn't recruit central VA. We know that. That's historical fact not up for debate. If that's a "shot", it's a well-deserved one.

wasnt meant to be a threat. just meant to mean people know some truths that others don't. i just happen to know as much if not more than you do. all the truths will come out sooner than later and it's not my job to air them out. i dont think i need to say anything else so i won't.

I'd take Fumble's word more than most people on baseball recruiting. Baseball parents talk, a lot. When you play Legion ball and travel ball and travel to all these places around here, the parents talk about who's contacted them and how much. If Johnny JMU's dad said "We liked LU, but they didn't even talk to us at all" that tells you exactly how much they were recruited by Liberty. There's five guys on our roster from Virginia. Compare that to four from PA, five from Florida, and six from California. He recruited more nationally than in Virginia. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you can't deny Royer didn't recruit Virginia very much.

Who recruited these players to come to LU? Don't think it was Toman. Maybe the previous coach should have made sure they were fundamentally sound before signing them.

Anyone with an athletic IQ larger than their shoe size knows we are headed in the right direction with our athletic department and we are light years ahead of where we were 4-5 years ago. Some haters just can't get over their buddies being asked to find employment elsewhere and it has blinded them to reality. WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fight on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the talent here really isn't that good?? You guys complained about that every year Royer was here - where is your star pitcher Chase Vaden been, who dominated this area in High School and Tomlin begged Royer to sign him, beyond his best judgment. Guys look really good here with stats, but remember these coaches see them play and recognize talent - I doubt anyone on this board is qualified to do that. Tyler Truxell - LU can't recruit every player in the state - some will get away. This isn't the hotbed of baseball and i hope that Toman doesn't center his recruiting efforts here either.

I agree with proto that we shouldn't focus things on here. I just hope we get to where the top players here at least consider us. Then again, I know baseball players, and in general, baseball's a hard sport to recruit Liberty type players.

I've agreed with you before. I don't think we should base things here, but should go after every good player in the area that fits us.

It's coming along alright. It's tough to do it all in two months, but we won't get into that. Thanks again for helping.

Only 5 stars states almost every year by baseball america and other publications, California, Texas, Florida, and...............Virginia.... Richmond, NOVA, Beach are loaded, west/southwest are picked through a little more. All i know is before this year, no recruits in VA really even knew Liberty or had interest. This year, almost any recruit that is worth anything in VA has talked to Liberty at least...........Other schools in VA are not as easy b/c they know Liberty is all over the place........

I believe RD has already left for the Final Four. What is so difficult to understand that we remove a guy who was winning and now we are struggling so when I compare that two it is blasted by some. Then I get called someone I am not. Is fumblerooksie Jeff?

We were 4th in basketball and many think it is progress great your opinion. We are 12-13 in baseball from the seasons MR had I think it is fair discussion. If you all want to get everyone a three to four year pass then state it.

Sounds like UNCA is horrible hope we have a winning series this weekend.

When RD gets back from San Antonio I will let him know that JDUb is looking for him.

do any of you know how many players were signed last year?
how many of them are starting?
do you all know what you had coming back?
do you think that the new coaches caused the players to forget the fundamentals?
is their a possibility that they were never fundamentally sound?
could the other teams have gotten a little better?
are they tough?

apparently this is really a personal thing to checkmate...........

how bad were the former coaches treated? do you know how well they were treated compared to any other
place i have ever heard of. if you know give everybody the details and let's see if everyone thinks it was unfair.

i'll still bet that the horses are on the way and toman will not settle for mediocrity.
