Duly noted.

VCU isn't happening.

And I hear you on RPI, LUconn. It's a completely flawed number that helped the Missouri Valley somehow turn into a top six conference a few years back. I remember when Missouri State was left out with an RPI of 18 or something, and you just looked at the resume, and there was nothing there except MSU feasting at home against other MVC teams, which had inflated their numbers by playing each other and so on.

It's a home and home series. I would love for this year it to be at the Vines, but I think I heard it's at Davidson.

At Davidson next year. Home in Seth's sophomore/Steph's senior season in 09.

The last time I "checked" the BSC season "finished" with a conference tournament, and we hadn't fared too well in those since 04.

Sometimes I just have to laugh when I read checkmate posting about other people "spinning". By definition, spin is selectively putting forth only the things that support your position while ignoring, rationalizing or de-emphesizing those that don't. This board has a few "spin doctors", but I have to say that checkers tops the list. Add to that the things that are stated as if they were hard cold facts like "weaker BSC". Based on what? The conference did not have a dominant team this year like the 07 Winthrop squad, but IMHO an argument could be made that it is as good or better from top to bottom. Regarding schedules.... yes, we had a money game against Florida in 07. Otherwise, I don't think there was a whole lot of difference. Remember Cincinnati Christian, Houghton and Southern Virginia?

I don't think that Checkmate is spinning when he says RD went 2-1-2-3 in his tenure or 36-13 in conference play to finish the regular season play. I am very nuetral and a businessman. Those numbers are very good.

Particularly after a coaching change, maybe?

Now that's as fair as it gets right there.

Let me sum this up for you guys...

RPI or SOS is BS in BSC.... Winthrop talks about that crap all the time and it doesn't matter for them either, or Davidson for that matter.

Bottom line is win regular season (NIT) or win Conference Tournament (NCAA) -- who cares about 2-1-2-8-3-5-7-8-2 whatever...LU has the $, get championships like the girls team!

In the history of LU - Jeff Meyer is the best coach they have had... Time will tell with RM.

I'll take .500. And put money on 20+ wins in 08-09. Yeah, that's gonna rock.

That is great you feel that it will be a 20 win season in 08-09. As close as you are to the AD you should have all the insight.
To address this point AGAIN, that statement was made when Dwight Brewington was still in the fold and Tyler Baker was expected to be healthy.

Just to jump in again...

Chris did make his statements with the understanding of Brew on board, & a healthy Baker.

An 8th place finish is terrible, but there was a great player out to injury, and one that coach made a tough decision on - & that decision had to be made. But still, 8th is obviously bad.

2-1-2 is pretty good.

The 3rd, in conext, is pretty good when coming off the 8th, and the 7-2 finish that same season is very good, and we were a couple of possessions away from 9-0 2nd half of the season, (almost... doesn't count...but almost beat WU on their court)

I KNOW the decision to change coaches was made before the season - it is the prerogative of the a.d. Accepted, but not happily.

His shirt wasn't tucked in, he said "frappin" and a bunch of bull accusations are thrown around without specifically naming them, which, since they are unnamed, make them pretty hard to answer.

Randy Dunton is a great man, coach, husband, and Christian.

Maybe RMK is as well (I've never met him).

I don't think that there is any spin there, although there are a few "opinions" put forth regarding the man and his character.

It's up to RMK and JB to get the job done. What was done before was not good enough, so they obviously need to
do better. I believe that the test (proof of the pudding) is the BS record. To me, either the NIT or the NCAA is huge success, and if this can be achieved, then no one can really complain about success issues. Some might still be upset about decisions, but they will have lost their option of complaining about success.

Seriously...Dunton is gone and this was RMK's first season without his first true recruiting class. We can debate who the better coach was/is all we want, but the answer won't be definitively settled until 2-3 years from now. Arguing over this does no good...lets just move on and root for Coach McKay and the Flames.

Coach Dunton had the same talent other than Bannister on last years team....

Larry Blair, Brew, Alex, and Anthony.....

TJ, Anthony, and Alex....don't forget Ohman, wait he was on RD's team too.....

half the talent, much better result......20 wins and a conference championship
