From the moment you meet Seth Curry, you immediately see the similarities to his older brother Stephen, but it's more than just looks that closely link the pair.

"Everywhere we went it was basketball, basketball, basketball," Seth told me. "Me and Stephen always had our battles playing one-on-one.”

"Who won?" I asked.

"Fifty-fifty pretty much. He'd win some. I'd win some," he replied.

The boys, who were teammates for a year at Charlotte Christian, will face a unique challenge next November when for the first time, they go up against each other man to man representing different schools: Stephen at Davidson, and Seth for Liberty.

Seth says he plans on wearing number 30.

Well he has some big shoes to fill at number 30. Hopefully he wont fill up the bench as much though

Bold prediction here.

Based on past experience (can you say "Kenny George?") Seth being on the team after brother Steph's heroics in the NCAA will have an impact on next year's attendance. I'd say 1000/game; more if his play on the court lives up to the inevitable hype.

Can someone explain the "Witness" T-shirt that his dad was wearing at the Davidson game on Sunday?

Lebron James was a guest of Curry's and Davidson in the last game...he had a shirt made up for Curry's dad I guess after being there first hand and seeing his jaw drop a few times and LJ leave his seat all throughout the game...it's a slogan he's been using for a while...here are some examples...you'll see this on the side of buildings around Cleveland

It's a pretty clever shirt for someone such as Curry to wear b/c it has several meanings...you're a witness to what his son is doing, what Davidson is doing as well as the obvious Christian meaning for those that are believers (such as Curry)

the whole lebron james "we are all witnesses" advertising campaign emerged during the playoffs for the year when he led the cavs to the nba finals by dominating the entire eastern conference.

did you guys notice throughout the whole tourney that every time steph curry made a shot he'd point at the guy with the assist then he'd point to the sky (assumingly giving credit to God) thought it was pretty cool.

From the article bigsmooth posted:
"He's a different player than Stephen," Dell Curry said. "Seth does everything well. Seth is bigger than Steph was as a senior. He's got a better body. But, I think it's a fair comparison, because they were both late bloomers."

Seth averaged 22 points this season while shooting 52 percent from the field and 46 percent on 3-pointers.

"We were really fortunate," McKay said. "He had a hamstring injury this summer that slowed him down a little bit. I had been in their gym in May, before he was injured. All it took was three plays and I said, 'Oh, my gosh, he's not ACC?'"

"You think, 'son of an NBA player, kind of soft, skinny.' But, when he puts his shorts on and the ref throws up the ball, he turns into Superman."

And, as the NCAA tournament showed, Clark Kent doesn't stay in a phone booth forever.

"Seeing my brother has made me even more confident in my decision," Seth said. "I know I can play in a smaller conference and still do big things on a national stage."

When he's finished growing, he may end up being the tallest Curry of all. Should be interesting.

Better curb your excitement, TBGBG, because Curry will be our 3-point threat next year and NOT your boy TB. :nonono

It will be interesting to see who ends up establishing the best chemistry playing in the backcourt with Seth. Right now Jenkins has the edge as the incoming starter, but I'd expect both Stephene and Anderson to present a challenge at some point.

It's too early to know who will get the majority of the playing time in the backcourt. We don't know what position Seth will be best suited for us, 1 or 2, and how good Stephene is. The only things we do know is, is that BJ, Jeremy, and Kyle will get some time.

I would imagine BJ would be the 1 going into the season. It's so hard for a freshman to start at point right away.

My guess is that Seth will see time at both backcourt poitions, but either way, he's the main guy. We should make no mistake of that.

It's going to be Jenkins

Stephene doesn't understand the game....What I mean is that Stephene plays by himself right now and doesn't play with the talent around him. Besides, Jenkins has 2 years experience playing in the backcourt.

Stephene, Anderson, Jenkins, and Ohman all understand the game. There's no need to worry about that.

I don't think that Mckay is too worried about seniority either, unless he plans on turning this thing into a union shop---which I doubt.

Finding the right chemistry to play alongside Seth should be a priority. We'll see how it plays out.

I saw kyle say the other day he couldn't play with Stephene b/c he can't play with a team....

all b/c stephene refused to use a screen....Also, heard from Bannister that Stephene is a street player and isn't ready yet...

He may be a little raw, but the talent is there. The question is how much talent does he have? What are his instincts like under real game conditions? I'm not so worried about street-ball if his instincts are correct and he's game-smart. It's hard to get a full evaluation of the guy until something's on the line. But all of this is just conjecture until these guys start practicing and playing for real.

At this point, I wouldn't write any of these guys off just yet. The only certainty is Seth. The coaching staff will have to determine who fits in best as backcourt mates with Seth, what benefits the wider context of the team as a whole.

Well, if he's not good in a team system yet, it's a good thing he's had a year off to get in on that.
