Harner has #10 Cody Cleveland of Chatanooga next round.

Cleveland lost to Matthew Kyler (Army) 5-2
Cleveland def. Zach Bailey (OU) 15-13

-------------------------------
Bailey was up 9-0 at the end of the 1st. Up 11-0 early in the second.
Cleveland scored 5, Bailey scored 1, Cleveland scored 2.
Bailey up 12-7 end of 2.
Cleveland scores 6, Bailey scores 1, headed to OT at 13-13.
Cleveland scores T2 for the win.
-------------------------------

I'd imagine he's sucking some wind right now trying to recover from that one. Both he and Harner can score points in a hurry. Wish I could see this one. Should be fun to watch.

Team Scores as of (I believe) end of Day 1

CH CO

50 3.0 North Dakota State University 0 1
51 2.5 Cleveland State University 0 2
52 2.0 Cal State-Bakersfield 0 1
2.0 Delaware State University 0 0
2.0 George Mason University 0 1
2.0 Liberty University 0 3
2.0 Lock Haven University 0 1
2.0 Oregon 0 1
2.0 Virginia Military Institute 0 1

We should pass these teams due to having more guys alive in Consoles, esp. with Harner winning and moving on. Checking on how the tournament points system is working. I'm thinking maybe .5 for a win, 1.0 for Maj. Dec., 1.5 for Tech, 2.0 for Pin.

Have to finish the season in the top-8 to be AA if I remember correctly.

Local fishwrap had a blurb about Christian Smith. What a crazy career for him. Sad to see it end how it did but glad he was a key cog in getting our program back on track.

Porter lost 4-1 to Stewart.

I believe though, that even though they lost, they both placed in the top 16 in the nation.

*checking brackets*

yep, harner and porter both finished top 16 in the country. so final ranking should be somewhere between 12-16 for both.

Congrats guys on a GREAT season.

looking forward to see how the final team points shake out after today.

we should be top 50? I think.

definitely a great step forward.

Year 1: 4 Wrestlers to nationals - 1 win
Year 2: 6 Wrestlers to nationals - 5 wins

Not too bad of a showing at the Nationals. The competition is very tough. The fact that we sent 6 wrestlers to the nationals shows me that this program is headed for bigger and better things.

Glad to see we get Christian back for another year.

I'd imagine we will get some more top recruits in this year. GREAT opportunity for kids to get to go to nationals. Especially seeing how many kids went through from our 'conference/region.' I think that will be key in getting some top guys.

Team Standings @ the end of Day 2

LU is tied for 51'st with Cleveland St. at 3.0
North Dakota St. University is in 50th with 3.5
GARDNER WEBB UNVISERSITY is in 49th with 4.0

at this point, I think Iowa is so far ahead, no one can catch them...

Finals Consoles

Iowa (102.0) 3 4
Ohio St. (71.0) 3 1
Iowa St. (68.0) 1 6
Penn St. (63.0) 2 2

I think It's quite possible for Iowa to not wrestle another match and STILL be ahead when the final scores are tallied.

Definitely a GREAT job by their new head coach (if you've followed that story with him leaving VT and 5 wrestlers deciding they wanted to follow him and VT not releasing them - which is highly unusual - and them losing a year of eligibility over it).
