This is virtually an unwinnable game for LU. ODU is a major program playing in a smaller conference. They usually win by wide margins at home. Also, has any team ever lost a home game in the ladies tourney? I doubt it.

The tradeoff here is that we get a nationally televised game on Easter night. There is a potential for positive exposure for the university and its athletic programs if LU keeps it close, or if they do the unthinkable and pull off an athletic miracle on Easter night.

We do have Megan, Molly, and a few seniors with sweet-16 experience. So, this group should be up to the challange and at least make a game of it.

ODU, historically is a very physical team that loves to drive to the basket and pound the ball inside.

LU can win, but it's gonna be extremely tough to take down a dominating team on their home turf. If the Lady Flames pull it off, then the momentum from this unthinkable win should carry over into the next round with a big W and a trip to the sweet-16.

It's not unwinnable. A very tough game, yes, but not unwinnable. Our key is to feed the low post on offense, and not get our bigs in foul trouble like they did against radturd.

To say that ODU is an unwinnable game is absolutely absurd! Will it be tough on their home court? Yes. None of the teams that have come into the Ted Constance Convo center are even in the NCAA tournament. A couple of them are in the WNIT but not in the NCAA tournament. This IMO will be a good ball game. We have beaten athletic teams this season. (Houston, Xavier, JMU, even RadTurd). This is not the ODU of 12-17 years ago when they had all of those Stud athletes that were competing for National Championships in the early to mid 90's. They lost to JMU even though on the road so they are not invincible.

Oh ye of little faith. The Lady Monarchs have struggled the past couple of weeks to squeak by some rather pedestrian opponents. Granted we had a couypleo f near misses as well but I would hardly write off our chances. I believe history has shown that Megan has a penchant for stepping up big in these spotlight games and our mental toughness cannot be questioned after this season.

Believe it or not, I like our chances of pulling off the upset. Having to play a 5-seed as a road game is rather poor form by the NCAA. But it is what it is. We have the abillity to win this one if we play our best game.

A win in this context is not completely insurmountable, but it's going to be extremely hard to do. It can be done, though. But actually doing it is going to be a huge task, and a tremendous amount of credit is deserved if LU pulls it out.

Again, the game being televised nationally is the one bonus here. If the game is at least close, then the situation won't be completely negative.

But hey, I'll be watchin' and hope'n for a big W, followed by another, and a trip to the sweet-16.

I am another bored ODU B/B fan that has nothing else to do but surf around boards of schools in the NCAA tournament. I noticed someone mention that ODU was probably unbeatable on their home floor. For everyone's information ODU has not won an NCAA game since 1991. In that time we have been beaten by Boston College and George Washington on our home court in the NCAA's. Quality wins at home this year were Penn State, Michigan State and East Tennessee State. We beat Kentucky and Vanderbilt on their home floors. I hope you don't mind me getting on your board. I for one am not taking Liberty lightly.

In light that we have two key players down with ACL injuries, I think the seed is probably dead-on. With those two, certainly a 9 or 10 would have been appropriate, but without them, the 12 may even be generous.

It is ludicrous for the committee to give a seed based off of injuries. Seedings are supposed to be awarded for accomplishments in the regular season. Based on our resume, we are at least an 11.
