i'm sure some remember that half court shot by duke's sean dockery to to beat VT.
what were some other unbelievable shots in COLLEGE bball?
Trailing Duke
86-78 in Carmichael Auditiorium on Senior Day 1974 with 17 seconds left, it looked as if all hope was gone for the Heels. Bobby Jones hits two free throws,
86-80. John Kuester steals an inbounds pass and hits a quick layup, 13 seconds left,
86-82. Duke mishandles another inbounds play resulting in a Bobby Jones basket,
86-84, with six seconds left. The Tar Heels quickly foul Duke's Pete Kramere – as the front end of his one-and-one misses and Carolina snares the rebound, calling time out with
only three seconds left on the clock.
Then history is made.
Mitch Kupchak sends a perfect baseball pass to freshman Walter Davis at halfcourt.
Davis covers enough ground in three dribbles to launch a desperation 28-foot jump shot that banks in, sending Carmichael Auditorium into what Woody Durham called "Pan-dee-mon-i-umm!"
The Tar Heels go on to defeat the Blue Devils in overtime behind a 31-point effort by Davis.
