i was on the same side (but sat farther down from that area) as in which the girl was charging the stands but couldn't hear what was said. but she was going to hurt someone the way she acted while charging the stands.

No that was an incident from a girl in Mrs Purples earlier career. In fact it is in the dictionary as a video for the phrase B*&% Slapped!!

As for the SR game there were racial slurs thrown out by some players and some fans towards this girl. While I can take being called Mayo and Cracker (Even Fing cracker as I was earlier, to which I replied "Really? Do you think I am more Saltine or Ritz, but I digress) I am sure that the constant badgering in that type of manner would cause some consternation for a teenager. This is unfortunately not uncommon for Seminole district games. In the past two years there have been instances where the crowd, parents included, started chanting "Go Back To The Ghetto" to the opposing team and a group of fans were escorted out by the Area's FInest for making monkey sounds and yelling baboon, gorilla and a host of symian favorites at the players. They said that they were saying it to THERE players.

As for Mrs Purple, a few spectator's have found that it is probably not a good idea to taunt her players in such a fashion. But the look on their faces was PRICELESS!!

Who were the officials???? This girl didnt even get a Technical Foul against her for her actions. Many found that pretty hard to believe.

There was no technical foul called for her actions and I have seen the crew who refereed the game (that evening) in the past and they are awful. I just don't know their names.

A similar instance happened a few years ago on the college level. The same nite as the Pistons/Pacers melee'. A player charged into the stands to break up a fight BY HER PARENTS, punches were thrown and both team left the court and the police were the ones to restore order. At the time there was NO RULE covering this so the player was NOT assessed a technical foul. Since then the rule book has been changed to reflect that type of incident were it to happen again.
The definition of fighting: Rule 4 - 10 An attempt to strike, punch or kick an opponent with a fist, hands or feet regardless of where contact is made ...An attempt to instigate a fight by commiting an unsporting act toward an opponent that causes an opponent to retaliate by fighting.

Doesn't say anything about a player going into a crowd. Could you ring her up for unsportsmanlike? Maybe, but she wasn't taunting, which is covered. Since she was removed by Campbell County's finest, the player could cause no more trouble so no need to penalize further. Unless of course you want officials to start making up rules LOL

So you are leading us to believe that refs don't indiscriminately hand out technical fouls as power trips to overcompensate for their own shortcomings?

:rofl

I'm going to go with unsportsmanlike...I mean something needs to be done. Its up to the coach for controlling his team but I found out last night who the officials were...one of their nicknames is "booby" so it shouldnt surprise anyone  I just hope he didnt have his yellow tinted glasses on that he wears when he does baseball games, if so it makes sense he didnt see her go crazy!

You must be thinking that MEDIC is a ref. I am not saying that is doesn't happen, I am just saying that by not issuing a technical foul they were within their rights. The advantage I have is that I am usually taller then the coaches so they don't tend to get to fussy. Plus it helps that Mrs Purple has been in the scene around her for 40 odd years!!
Now if you want to go into the definition of "game management" that would be another thread

HMO - You could get away with an unsportsmanlike "T" if you wanted to and I don't think anyone would have said anything. I believe that since the offender was esocrted from the playing floor that enough "punishment" had been metted out. On the other hand, if the fans had been under control..............

Let us also not forget that ED was NOT the one charging into the stands. She was the unfortunate one who took a nice eye rake. (Which btw is not an outomatic foul if it is deemed "incidental")

the refs probably made a good judgement call in my opinion. if they were to call a tech on the girl, then Brookville, who was leading by several, would have shot free throws and got the ball. If the girl got what she deserved, it would have been four shots for the Bees then the ball. With the fans in an uproar, the game already decided, and the girl already have been escorted off, It was good game management.

Yes, Purple.....lets get into that...

Crazy refs. What association do they work for? Someone should contact the supervisor of officials....

Note: The above line is complete sarcasm.

On a happier note, Emilee's eye is fine. She played in the region quarterfinals Tuesday night where she scored 11 points and had 7 assists. Her team plays in the region semis tonight at Lord Botertout against Lord Botertout. Winner gets an automatic bid to states!

I agree, I think if it was a closer game then they would have handled it differently. BHS asked why no T was given and the official told him that they were up a lot and that they just wanted to get out of there! Cant blame them I guess.
