Good call...and legit reason. I feel like I've been coughing up a lung and prefer not to infect the rest of the student/faculty population...so I am in quarantine.

We need more than just Alex to get points in the paint. 34 three-pointers is too many but I understand with our personel. The three point game plan was bound to backfire at some point. Not sure I buy the burn out thing either.

I'm drinking it. But lucky for you, you can still blame it on McKay if you wish. It's his lack of bench.
I suppose we were unable in November to realize February was going to come. Could we not have played Russ a few minutes?
Actually, I don't know if playing Russ more would have helped. Alex has continued to be productive despite his minutes and sore knee. The player who it seems to have affected most is BJ, who has scored 2, 5, and 2 in his last 3 games. Perhaps more minutes for J. Holland or Spencer would have helped. Hard to know.

Also, if we think some of our players log a lot of minutes....... check out what Garland and Smithson play for Ashville. Of course they are slipping too, so it may have merit.

I find it amazing.

If you're talking about maximizing Russ and Alex, possibly a lot of people are thinking it independently. Again, those are just my thoughts (not saying that I am anywhere near as smart as RMK), and there was no collusion of any kind, if that's what you found amazing.

Go Flames ! Still time to turn it around and make it a positive season and close-out.

Ace averages the exact amount of minutes as he did a year ago. We have Rell with 22 and four gaurds who are averaging between 20-30, and a wing, Smith, who averages 33.

There is no issue whatsoever with the gaurds playing too much. Ace is thriving with his 32 per game.

What about last year's team? Did they burnout or did they fail to meet essential challenges at critical junctures? I'll go with the later, and unless they do a complete turnaround, this team will be defined similarly.

I am with grm, i know that we have not blown out to many teams, but russ should have been in consideration for a few mop up minutes this season. He is a big body that we could have used last night, and could potentially have used in the future. Now he is a big body with very minimal game experience. The Five guard sets killed us last night on the boards.

I'm sure he was, but not considered worth the investment.

There is no "future" for Russ, he is a senior.

Prior to the BS tournament last year, we were 7-2 in the last 9 league games, with one of them a last possession loss to WU, which was possibly the best team in BS history - at WU.

Then, we lost to a hot and good VMI team by 1, when, somewhat similar to last night, the in-bounds pass went from Smitty to somewhere close to half court, while Brew says he was open on the inbounds side of the front court.

I don't profess to be able to state what the difference is between this year and last, but based on the record, I wouldn't call last year a burn-out year.

I thought that same exact thing last night. We obviously didn't learn our lesson.

The people that would have learned a lesson, weren't involved last night.

do you mean Anthony Smith, the one responsible for inbounding the ball to the shooter in both cases?

Excuse me, Tyler Baker was the one who kept us in the game that LB threw away last year in case you forgot... and look at our roster for this year... he has more PPG than almost half our guys

That play was drawn up as a 3 second play, and when the refs changed the clock everybody on the team knew it was over. My gues is a pass to TeeJay and a cut by Smitty to the 3 line pass shot. Smitty had this awful look on his face when the clock said 2.0.

Not sure why we didnt plan for that, but oh well.
