Agreed! That play was very poorly executed. It's like we just gave it to them.

VMI set its defense, and Liberty didn't have a timeout to counter. They only had five seconds to get the play in.

So how many things could have won that game for us last night?

Another .5 seconds on the clock (like I thought there should have been)
Ace playing the 1st 4 minutes that got us into a 10 point hole (why didn't he start?)
That junk basket we felt ok to let go with no time left in the 1st half
If Kyle tried to draw 1 less charge (stop doing that and D up!)
Somehow with under 2 minutes left, BJ winds up gaurding Reggie?? Talk about a mismatch

I'm sure I could go on.

RMK's quote From Chris' article

"The Flames, who have played with a seven-man rotation for the majority of the season, have hit a mental and physical wall, McKay said, one he's not entirely sure how to get his team over."

Boy, that sounds a little discouraging to me. Maybe by practice time he'll have thought of something. I'm not 1/100 of the basketball mind that RMK is, but I would try to get Rus a few minutes to keep Alex rested, and then, with Alex in the game, I would pound it inside until teams like VMI could prove they could stop him, or foul out trying.

But again, I'm just a bystander.

You should have heard his postgame quotes with JE last night. It was pretty discouraging. He just seemed lost as to why they won't play defense. Hopefully somebody or somebodies get torn a new one in practice. If last night's game and all that the game implied can't motivate a team, what will?

RM has proven game after game that he would rather play 5 guards than Russ.

I know its a little late, but heres my take...

1. Yes, the refs were terrible... I thought the lack of calls went both ways tho (except fouls). Touch fouls were only called on us and that ticked me off

2. We Win if we have Tyler Baker

3. They did start double teaming ACE in the second half but it wasnt till he got the touch, i think we should have run the offense through him and let him pass out of the double team.

4. Kyle Ohman needs a humility pill and has no business being in the game acting like that. I like that he shows hustle most the time, but he has no business driving and dribbling which was seen last night, he has no reason to flex after tipping it in, he complains about everything, and when you go to the bench at a TO and everytime the first thing to come out of your mouth is an excuse or crying, go play @ Presby or something.

5. Jeremy Anderson was a little scared, but thats a freshman, he hit some big shots.

6. TeeJay played a better game than the stats show I think, He was directing things and reacted to VMI's change of defense on every possession well.

7. I would like to see a little Russ, especially with Willie Bell hurt, they could play the post and they got some Offensive rebounds they shouldnt have. When we have a 4 guard lineup in teams know all the have to do is double Ace on a boxout and they have the rebound.

8. Jason Allison Went to Liberty :D

9. Duggar should have got many techs

10. Manger didnt dance :(

11. I support LU and I support McKay, but he is quitting on us and I dont like it. I will be the first to say im wrong if it changes, but it just looks like he has checked out ie Longwood. I dont understand it, but Maybe im Missing something. and I dont want to hear the crap that his players attitudes are so bad he cant do anything. Cause thats crap, you discipline your players.

12. Of Course VMI fans are terrible, but we all knew that.

13. Reggie is Good. I respect that he played the whole game in that fast offense and trap defense especially coming off an injury. Respect buddy.

14. BJ didnt have the usual points, but he had a lot of assists and I thought he played pretty good.

15. Smitty played VERY well, good job buddy.

16. DAN-NY ROC-CO CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP

17. TL20 Checked in... WHYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!

18. I hate VMI, and Winthrop :D

19. oh, And BJ was on crutches.

P.S. Booooo RU.

It was hilarious and freakin stupid at the same time. I think 2 random guys up top started it, then Rob, then everyone. So gay.

TL20 checked in because he is the best shooter left after Kyle fouled out.

Yes, I am being serious.

He should have got that last shot instead of Jeremy. (Hindsight is 20/20)

And then random "this is boring" chant. Chavis Holmes was clapping with you guys. He was bored too. Couldn't wait to go call his cousin and brag about the game.

I was hoping they gave it to him, he wouldn't have been nervous at all

If nothing else, it would have been a shorter pass, and left more time on the clock if he had missed.

what the freak was the point of that? Who showboats in a close game? I love how he runs down the court after that and tries to draw a BS charge and winds up giving them the lead. I was almost happy that we gave up two points so that he could foul out.

I meant if TeeJay had passed to Tim and not Jeremy cross court... there would have a been good second or two more... I don't mean on the last play.
