hah this is funny that yall talk about NFL aspirations....Vince is the best shot of probably anyone at making an impact on any NFL teams...His size and speed is exactly what scouts look for to maybe mold into a great player....Many NFl linebackers and d lineman have gone to small schools because of their Football IQ disregarding their amazing athletic abilities...My family has ties to the Chicago Bears and they drafter a guy a few years ago named Daniel Manning out of Abilene Christian...Not well known school but has amazing abilities yet lack of IQ....Many coaches like to mold that perfect athlete into a smarter player and maybe even a impact player on the team...Vince Redd is a freak of natural athleticism with his ability to move like that and be so big, he can be drafted maybe 5th round if he performs well at NFL combine....Apparently we got Rashaad changing his number to like 23 so NFL scouts pay attention more to him....Maybe next year he could be another Liberty pro

Well, unless we decide to recruit the McDougal kids from the track team, there is no way that we can manage with 6 or 7 the entire year, and hope to be conditioned enough to play against VMI come March.

It's not so much conditioning as it is breaking down of your body. All these guys are in good enough shape to play 2 games per night really in terms of stamina and wind. The problem with logging high minutes early is a burn out and tired worn down legs. Once your legs go, there goes your shot, your reaction time etc. Muscles and ligaments can be over-used and flare up on you. The potential for burn out and injury is more of a concern than being in condition. VMI is not really more conditioned than their opponents. They just play their rotations like a hockey team and play 13 guys a game when everyone is healthy. BTW VMI with a big win over JMU last night. It's not Georgia Tech but still a good win at home.

Danielle Manning was a Top 5 players overall in the Lone Star State coming out of HS as he committed to A&M following his sophomore season. But he had qualification issues so he would up playing for ACU.

But the point being that I-AA players are in heavy supply in the NFL is a valid one.

And NFL teams are looking at lower level colleges more and more, since there is more exposure to video of the players.

I mean, Hampton sent how many guys to the combine last year? Three or four. Exactly.

Yeah I don't get that. How does changing your number get scouts to pay more attention to you?

I don't know man, the game last night could be pegged as them being burnt out, but the Radford, HPU, Winthrop, & CSU games, I don't know. Longwood we just threw away with who was playing.

If we lose our next 2, then yes we're burnt out.

Yeah, 2-6 is not the preferred way to close out, and the Radford game really cries out for a win.

I still say that a good tournament will make everybody feel a lot better, though.

You were very astute. I remember the thread, and at the time was not worried about minutes, but something has not gone the way we wanted it, and you may have hit it on the head.

Boy, I hate to think of that happening... I can hardly imagine closing out 2-8, and I don't believe we will, but it is a sobering thought. I'm just counting on a huge effort in the BS...

Are we really going to drink the burnout bull. You are at home playing a weakened 5-7 rival team. And a first round home seed is on the line. Maybe we got sore elbows from again shooting 34 3fg and who is setting the match-ups on Williams.

I'm drinking it. But lucky for you, you can still blame it on McKay if you wish. It's his lack of bench.

I suppose we were unable in November to realize February was going to come. Could we not have played Russ a few minutes?

Anyone else find it amazing that checkers and grm posted essentially the SAME thing at the same time in two different threads?
