Taking a page out of the NHL's playbook, the NBA is heading to the great outdoors when the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets square off in an October exhibition game, according to a published report. The matchup will be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif., on Oct. 11, The Arizona Republic reports. The stadium seats 16,100 fans and annually hosts the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament.

Maybe not 16,000 tickets, but you can sell 16,000 ______ __ _______ there.

You fill in the blanks.

One of the NBA commentators suggested the all-star game should be played outdoors. It would have to be a warm weather venue, but I think it would be cool. On ASPHALT!

Plus if you played there, i think Stern would have to incorporate the Knicks somehow since the game would be in NY......and no-one is paying to see the knicks these days besides Spike Lee.....

Asphalt is too slick for these NBA guys to play on. You know one of them would get hurt. Especially when you are used to stopping on a dime.

Actually Belcher, it will not be too slick for them to play on unless it rains. The tennis courts at Indian Wells have a rubbery base, and while not the Plexicushion like the Australian Open, the NBA players will be just fine playing on the Rebound Ace hard courts as long as they are dry. However, flopping is not advisable in such a situation
