HUGE disappointment after high point falls to coastal, we had an opportunity to take 3rd place by ourselves. Didn't want it.

We shoot 50% from the field. But they make 14 more free throws than us. That'll do it.

Oh, we're still in third. It's just now a 3-way tie for 3rd.

VMI wins tomorrow night and they launch from 6th to 3rd.

I dare them to win.

There's a 4-way tie for third right now if you go by winning percentage. VMI has played two less games than CCU, HPU, and LU.

If VMI wins on Wednesday, they move into 3rd place on their own. If they lose, they drop to 6th.

CCU, HPU, and LU is a complete tie right now. LU holds the tie breaker over CCU. CCU holds the tie breaker over HPU. HPU holds the tie breaker over LU.

It seems as though we have more trouble with these bottom feeders on the road than just about any other game. This just puts a little more heat on us to take care of business the remainder of the regular season.

Awesome.

Can't get any better than that.

Sounds even more complicated than the BSC Quiz Bowl standings :dontgetit , but Kyle figured that one out & declared LU the winner!

... much to his own dismay. He probably thought he'd throw LU a bone in Quiz Bowl so he could really stick it to us in football & mens hoops. 8)

If the tourney started tonight, Liberty would be the No. 3. Wins the three-way tiebreaker with HPU and CCU based on record against the other two. Liberty 3-1, CCU 2-2, HPU 1-3.

If Liberty wins its final two league games, it locks at least the four seed, because it would own tiebreakers with both Coastal and VMI (season sweeps) and couldn't finish any worse than 8-6. Coastal can't finish any better than that. VMI wouldn't either, provided a loss at LU.

So it's all in their control.

Chris, how would we be at least the 4 at the end, but a 3 now?

Does it have to do with a 3-way tie being broken differently than a 2-way tie?

The only way you don't get the 3 is if it's a tie with High Point, which would win the tiebreaker thanks to a win over Winthrop.

I'm not going to get into the scenarios if LU loses a game. We'll cross that path if it comes to that.

Roger that.

Hold court at home against VMI and Radford and we will get to play at home in the Tourney. Sounds like a plan to me!

And we'd also get Asheville on a neutral court.

It was an entertaining game for a impartial observer such as myself...The first half was a bit sloppy, CSU rushed shots and Bannister kept trying to force it to McLean when he wasn't open, but Ohman hit some open threes to keep the LU offense going (and he even passed it to Jeremy Anderson at least 2 or 3 times tonight, since I remember that was a point of discussion on here at some point).

Both teams executed well in the 2nd half, CSU just hit more threes and protected the ball a little better. I think I heard that CSU shot 50% in the 2nd half, hit 9 threes, and only had 2 turnovers. They were much more patient in the 2nd half on offense and worked for open shots, and Warren, Carter, Moore, and Bailey all were hitting when they were open. McLean, Smith, and Bannister all were productive in the 2nd half, but they didn't get much help (though I think Anderson hit a couple of threes early in the half)...Porter and Jenkins were non-factors the whole game.

One question I have. With like 15-20 seconds left (not sure on the exact time), CSU hit a pair of FTs to go up 6, and then LU puts Layer into the game and takes out Anthony Smith. Granted, a comeback wasn't likely, but I was surprised that a very strong 3-point shooter in Smith (who was shooting well in the 2nd half) was the one taken out of the game. Not sure if there was a miscommunication or what, but I would've figured that he would've been helpful in that spot (though like I said, a comeback would've been tough).

Well, as the 3. If we tie with HPU and get the 4, we get WU at Rock Hill...

Layer is a very strong 3 point shooter, too! :D

I know. I was just clarifying that, the situation I was talking about didn't necessarily net us the 3. We need HPU to lose. Or Coastal to win out.

Oh, how can I forget the best part of the night...

Manger's (i'm guessing that was him given earlier talk about it) pregame dance. Classic. That was worth the $5 right there, especially after his shoe flew off and then he put it up against his ear like a phone.

It is moments like Manger's pregame dance that remind you how good it is to be on this board.

I mean, I read about it, but it exceeded any expectations I had for it. It was great.

Yeah, reading about it is one thing... seeing it in person is a whole lot better.

Someone should tape it before each game and then make a DVD at the end of the season and sell it on here.

Having not seen the first game (I was at a family function), I have to say, Charleston Southern is not a bad team, especially when it shoots well. They have no post presence whatsoever, and that will have to be addressed in recruiting. But Jamarco Warren seems to find ways to get his shot even when he's covered, and Omar Carter is very dangerous. Once he learns to get to the free-throw line more, he's going to be even better. Bailey, from what I hear, played a little over his head last night. They're going to struggle to win on the road because they won't shoot lights out every game like they do at home. But if Barclay adds a solid inside player or two, CSU will be a team on the rise in the next couple of years.
