Can you name another league that has one set of rules for championship sites for the men and the women? That's Kyle for you.Big Sky has different rules for the men and women as well. The men go host sites for the first round, followed by the semis and finals at the regular-season champ. The women go to the regular-season champ for the whole thing. I'm sure a lot has to do with revenue. The conference can make a lot more money if Weber State is playing Portland State in Ogden versus having them play it neturally at the regular-season champion.
I believe the league has some requirements about ticket allocations for teams involved in the tourney that downplay the homecourt advantage in such a tiny gym. But having UNCA host the title game is an embarrassment to the league. Hopefully it doesn't happen. The mens tourney is significant that the league should be putting it up for bids to different cities in order to get a free venue in a neutral location (likely somewhere in the Carolinas). That way the conference could avoid the humiliation associated with a UNCA, HPU, CCU or CSU gym being shown to the world on ESPN2 or U.
On the women's side, sad to say, it doesn't matter. There's only going to be a handful of fans at most home games anyway, unless you're one of the bigger programs. I think Liberty is the only school in the Big South that consistently draws in the four figures.Shh. Don't let the Winthrop fans hear you say that.

You have got to be kidding me. I thought that they were drawing in the 3K - 4K range for the last 2 years
